Grow Your Yoga: Days 1 + 2
Hello!! So this month my studio is doing a thirty day challenge to benefit the David Suzuki Foundation and to help us find growth in our practice. There have already been two challenges since September, but this is the first time I've mustered up enough courage and sign up. I want to be held accountable during this month and I’d also like to keep track of my growth in a tangible way and thought, “Hey! That’s what blogs are for!”
To begin, day 1 was so STRESSFUL. I just finished up one of the hardest and longest weeks of the semester and was originally expected to attend this big function (which I hella didn’t want to go to tbh). PLUS with all the stress of school I ended up missing all three of my regular classes, and it was definitely getting to me both physically and emotionally. So in favour of my well-being, I cancelled everything and booked my first class in a little over a week.
The 90 minute Yin class was a total DREAM. It was everything I needed that night. I came out of that class feeling so much lighter and more at ease. Choosing the later Yin over a last minute Moksha series was such a good call. I can easily see myself choosing this class on days when I just can’t feasibly handle the moksha series itself.
Day 2 (Today!!) was a challenge and a half tbh I got 4 hours of sleep then worked all morning with nothing in my stomach but a caramel macchiato and I honestly thought I was going to pass out. BUT when the class was done and I had a chance to cool down, I honestly felt amazing. The new teacher was so fun and really pushed us to deeper our poses. I’m so excited because she’s scheduled to teach the next three classes on my schedule!! I’m going to get my ass kicked lmao
I’ve made a hastag so blacklist//block it if you don’t want to see my daily rambles about my adventures as a novice yogi because I don’t know how to make my posts into “read mores”. But I swear all of my future posts will be short and sweet (I’m just sleep deprived and rambly tonight pls forgive me)
Anyways namaste my little yogi-berries xox
