My response to people berating my human AU Charon, specifically how he rocks makeup sometimes?

Say fuck it and give him an entire drag look. ✨

Meet "Ache" (pronounced as ash), the fiery hellion in heels. I have no control, so under the cut is some Ache headcanons.

The stage name "Ache" is a play on the Acheron River, the dark waters in Greek mythology that Charon would ferry souls across.

This takes a lot of self-confidence for him, given his rather tall, large size and his malformed skin. Timeline wise, Ache doesn't occur until well later.

Meaning that Molakis is in his early-50s at this point. And still strutting his stuff around. 👏

Dance is Ache's main performance; after all, Molakis is a showman (i.e. his band STYXX). Sometimes, he'll have a partner--"Jasmine" [current face claim], a queen who wears complimenting colors (blues, whites), and the two play off a sort of good girl, bad girl dynamic.

Vogue (or any dance similar to) is out of the question for him. Not only because he's up there in years, but he also is just... not built for it.

However, what he CAN do (and does very well) is hip checks, body rolls, and legwork.

As far as musical choices: For solo dances, it's heavy metal/rock [such as 'Adrenalize' by In This Moment]; and for duos with Jasmine, it's early '00s hip hop/rap [such as 'Elevator' by Flo Rida].

He's attempted to wear taller heels, at the insistence of other queens. And immediately ate shit.

Not like he needs taller heels. With his current boots, "Ache" stands at an intimidating 6'9" (4-inch heels).

He doesn't bother with padding and/or shaving. At all. Nah, he shows his Entire Bear Self off.

2. Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?

Both Molakis and Verne definitely prioritize caring for others over themselves... though they'd probably forget to water plants one too many times, let's be honest. Children become a somewhat touchy subject for them; they start to humor the idea, but both worry that they're not fit for parenthood. Even though they'd be excellent fathers.

3. Ask them to describe their love interest.

Molakis: "A man who wears his kindness on his sleeve and lets compassion gleam in his eyes. Gob never gives up--not on life, not on others, and most importantly, not on himself. How I struck such luck to meet him, I'll never know. He's also got the most wonderful butt."

Verne: "Oh, Charon. He likes to put off a scary, bad-boy front, but really, he's just a giant teddy bear. A family man through and through, he's always putting others before himself. The fact he's still on this earth after everything is a damn blessing."

🌱- Does this OC have any pets? Do they have any pets they want?

They don't have any, but I can definitely see them having a big, lazy dog. A good pupper that'll take naps with them on the couch and give good snugs when they need it.

🍁- What's this OC's favorite genre of movies/TV shows/books/etc.?

Verne absolutely loves shitty movies. Y'know those at the bottom of Netflix's horror barrel? Yeah, those. And he loves Molakis' reactions to them. Book-wise, he's a sucker for a good mystery novel.

Molakis has learned to love those horrible movies--largely because Gob enjoys them, and those positive feelings can be infectious. Reading is preferred over film, and he prefers military fiction and thrillers.

🌸- What's this OC's favorite and least favorite color?

Verne likes pastels, with his all-time favorite being lavender/purple. He also loves black for the simple fact that his husband looks hella good in it. Least favorite is any form of neon; they're too damn obnoxious.

Molakis' favorites are on the more neutral side--blacks, grays, muted shades of green/blue, etc. Anything too bright, like yellows and cyan, he doesn't care for.

🌸 - Do they have an aftercare routine?

Charon: He's definitely a Big Ol' Teddy Bear when it comes to aftercare. Sometimes he'll go out for a quick smoke, but it's standard that--after cleaning up--he just... becomes a lump. A big, snuggly lump. Good luck getting the guy out of bed... or his partner, because he tends to pin them down kjdhf.

Gob: Very much a cuddler; he'll continue to show affection via kisses and gentle touches. If he doesn't immediately doze off, he'll read while playing with his partner's hair and such.

👗 - Clothes off or on during sex?

Charon: Normally, off (after his deployment, this changes for a little while as he works through a period of major body dysmorphia). Now, he also sometimes rocks a... certain look when very submissive. All leather--cropped vest, assless chaps, knee-high boots. He also tends to maintain the Ache look if things get lewd while he's in it.

Gob: Definitely off. He hates the feeling of sweaty clothes on his body.

💦 - Any traits or physical attributes that really turn them on?

Charon: Thigh Guy. 10000%. Man is weak for full thighs and will unabashedly worship the hell out of them.

Gob: Broad frame, nice butt, and good tiddies he can get a handful of.

Most iconic? I think everyone can agree that'd be the drag persona that is Ache. After all, it's not every day a middle-aged bear of a man in a dress and high heels struts around like she owns the world. ✨

His father... and, ultimately, the state of the veteran care system--which he eventually witnesses first hand.

Molakis is definitely more the type to hang back and not call attention to himself. He's always been that way, though most attribute it to his bouncer/security experience.

🌼- What's your favorite thing about this OC?

Oh man, I love both these lads SO much. It's always hard to believe that these two started as "lol wouldn't it be funny if", and now, here we are! 😭

It's hard to pick just one thing for each of them, because I just love how they have formed to be one another's missing puzzle pieces. That and how they've grown into their own entities, despite being based on canon.

I just hopelessly love them both so much.......

🌳- Does this OC collect anything?

Verne takes great pride in his collection of guitar picks. He didn't start going to concerts until he moved out of his parents' home, so in a way, they serve as a reminder of his freedom from that environment.

Molakis isn't active in collecting much anymore, but he does have a handful of records that he holds dear, namely those that he would listen to with his father before his father's deployment to Alaska.

Since I'm hyperfixated like heck on these Comfort Husbands... it's AU boy time.

🌟- Is this OC good at expressing themselves through words or do they have to use other means?

Neither of them are particularly good with words, just in different ways. Especially with one another, they prefer to express things physically (i.e. reassuring, gentle touches).

Verne easily buckles under pressure--good or bad. He stutters, trips over his words, loses his train of thought. Usually, he'll have to pause and take a moment to calm his nerves, organize his thoughts.

Molakis often ends up falling silent when he just doesn't know how to respond. Far from a social man, his understanding of social cues is lack-luster. If he's able, he prefers to just back out entirely from conversations.

🌈- What does this OC like and dislike about themselves?

Like -- Verne: The general path his life is going: being the photographer for Charon's band, pursuing a college education in a field he's passionate about, making a life with a wonderful dude. Molakis: His vigilance and determination, namely to not leave his husband alone. Countless times, he has fought for his life--literally so, occasionally--and has prevailed.

Dislike -- Verne: His stuttering. He hates it. Not only does it make him feel like a fool when it occurs, but it also brings back bad memories from childhood--one of the largest root causes. Molakis: The effects of war, both physical and mental. It takes him a long time to come to proper terms with it all... and even now, there are moments where he truly believes he is a monster.

2. How did they get together?

They worked in the same bar. Yep, that simple. After Charon moved to DC with his family, he soon was hired at Moriarty's Saloon as a bouncer. As they worked together, he and Gob gravitated to each other over the months. Charon moving Gob into his apartment served as the final stone in the wall.

4. What’s the relationship like? Smooth? Rocky?

For the most part, smooth. It gets a bit rocky during certain points, most notably when Charon returns home from war, as he's acclimating himself back into society and recovering from his physical and mental injuries. These ragged points, however, are chiseled down; they work through it.

10. How do they resolve their arguments?

They talk about it. Honestly and civilly. Easy as that.

11. Who is the most physically affectionate?

In public, it's Gob. He keeps the affections tame, of course--kisses on the cheek, holding hands. Charon readily returns these, but hardly initiates himself. In private, it teeters a bit in the opposite direction, but not by much.

20. Do they give each other nicknames?

They do! Charon calls Gob dear, babe, and love; Gob calls Charon hun, Char, and bear.
