Prisoner
❂ ❂ ❂
Brass woke up in his room, looking at the robot next to him. Jeffrey, a prisoner of the clan, was looking back at him, cupping his cheek. Brass finally felt calm. He always felt calm whenever he was with Jeffrey. He’d order the guards to bring him into his room, and as soon as nobody was looking, the two robots could finally show how they truly feel for each other. This is his way to handle... well, everything- from the stress of running the church of the broken god, to the sounds of his sick son suffering, even to guilt.
But this night, Jeffrey didn’t feel calm.
“This needs to stop.” he whispered to Brass.
“Jeffrey, I thought we already talked about it.” Brass sighed. “I can’t disappoint them.”
“So you have to hurt the people who actually care?” Jeffrey asked. “So you have to lie to yourself?”
“I didn’t hurt you.” Brass said. “I have no intentions of hurting you, or Pesterbot, or Mikey-”
“I’m talking about your siblings, Brass.”
The two went silent for a few seconds. Jeffrey got up from the bad and leaned against the wall, looking at his lover with a serious look.
“I mean, these guys literally forced you to kill them!” Jeffrey said.
“Jeffrey-”
“And instead of having a bit of moral, a bit of logic, to realize that it’s a bad idea, you fucking go for it.”
“Jeffrey.”
“I mean, I hate the miss, but I would never, and I mean NEVER, try to do anything that would kill her.”
“Jeffrey!” Brass yelled, causing Jeffrey to shut his mouth. “I told you too many times, I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THEM! I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEM!”
“It’s not about what you want to hear, Brass,” Jeffrey said. “It’s about what you have to hear.”
Brass got out of the bed as well, looking into his lover’s eyes.
“There are too many things you have to hear, but you refuse to.” Jeffrey said. “You act like a child and deny the truth.”
“Really?” Brass said, getting close to Jeffrey and putting his hand against the wall, next to his head. “Is there anything else I have to hear?”
“You are no god, Brass. Not even a broken piece of one.”
Jeffrey went to the door without even looking at Brass, who was both offended and shocked.
“I can call the guards by myself.” Jeffrey said as he opened the door. “Have a good night, Brass.”
Brass watched in silence as the guards came, each aggressively grabbing one of Jeffrey’s arms and taking him to his cell. He closed the door and sat on the bed, burying his face in his hands as he remembers the day they met.

“So this is the dungeon?” Brass asked as the miss showed him around the church. It was his first month in the church, and he still hasn’t seen this place.
He looked around, watching the flickering lights, the prisoners in their cells.
One of the prisoners caught his eye. While the rest of the prisoners tried getting his attention, this one robot sat in his cell, playing with a dead rat. He didn’t show any excitement about it.
“Who’s that guy?” Brass asked the miss, pointing at said prisoner.
“This one is my biggest mistake.” she muttered. “His name is Jeffrey. He’s a fucking traitor.”
“What did he do?” Brass asked.
“He said that the idea of a broken god is dumb, my lord.” she said.
She looked at Jeffrey, her expression is filled with pure hatred. Brass felt a little sad for him, knowing what it’s like to be disliked by your own creator.
“Hey. Jeffrey!” she yelled. Jeffrey looked up from the rat.
“Oh hey, mother.” he said.
“Call me ‘mother’ one more time, and I’ll break you.” she yelled. “This is Brass. Our lord.”
Brass was expecting him to be shocked, excited, anything...
“Are you fucking serious?” Jeffrey said in disappointment. “This guy? Is somehow a broken god?”
The prisoner turned his attention back to the dead rat.
“We’re planning to execute him someday soon.” the miss told Brass. “This is his punishment for his sins.”
“Don’t.” Brass said.
Both the miss and Jeffrey looked at him surprised.
“B-but, my lord-!”
“This punishment is too harsh for this sin, ma’am.” Brass said. “You’re just looking for a reason to get rid of him, don’t you?”
The miss stared at him for a few seconds before hurrying out of the dungeon.
“O-our tour is done for today, my lord!” she said as she left.
Brass giggled and turned his attention back to Jeffrey.
“You’re gonna be okay, man.” Brass said. “I have a feeling we’re gonna get along just fine.”
Brass winked at him before leaving the dungeon as well, taking one last look at the flustered robot.

Brass got up from his bed and grabbed his favorite dagger. He walked out of his room and went into his alter. One of his guards was there.
“Tell the miss to come here.” Brass said. “Don’t ask why.”
the guard nodded and left the alter.
Brass stared at the shiny dagger. The same old dagger he used to kill Redd. He knew what he’s supposed to do with it. He should’ve done it a long time ago.
“My lord.” The miss said as she entered the alter. “What is it you wish for? Is it about Jeffrey? Do you want me to hurt him?”
“No.” Brass said, looking at her from the corner of his eye. “The fact that you keep asking me this over and over again, even though I told you to stop it, is showing me how disobedient you are.”
The miss stared at him, eyes wide open and filled with horror, as he turned around to face her. She saw the dagger, scaring of whatever it is he’s planning.
“You know the punishment for disobedience, don’t you?” He asked her. He felt angry. Angry at her for treating her own creation like garbage, for blaming Jeffrey for everything, for the fact that he and Jeffrey can’t be a normal couple because he was too scared of letting her down.
He stuck the knife in her throat, watching the blood and tear coming out of her.
“The punishment is death, miss.”
