#Repost @colvinology Molé Merkin, a 7.8% milk stout from Firestone Walker (@firestonewalker) aged in bourbon barrels with cocoa nibs, cinnamon, ad chili pepper, and the Master Grade Gundam Unicorn 03 Phenex . The nose is full of semisweet chocolate, chili peppers, and bourbon. I'm not getting a ton of cinnamon by itself, but that tends to blend in with other aromas fairly often. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's probably more prevalent in the taste. The sip brings a fantastic milk chocolate flavor, along with a bit of pepper kick, and the cinnamon I was missing from the nose. The bourbon flavor is there, but delightfully mellow; it's more like someone put a shot of bourbon in your Mexican hot chocolate, rather than half a bottle 😂. The flavors come out more as it warms, and at 7.8%, it's a pretty damn crushable stout. The flavors are sweet, but not cloying, and everything is present, but never overpowering.
