5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do, normally. Recently I’ve been working a lot so I have less time for writing. I don’t like to generically respond to comments so it takes me a bunch of time, and I’ve just kind of been waiting to respond until my schedule evens out and I finish writing all my deadline fics. Then I’ll do mass inbox clearing.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uhhhh I really only try to write HEA! But probably my SOTR oneshot about Haymitch/Lenore Dove since it’s canon-compliant.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I think the ending of On Losing Saturdays and The Utter Inconvenience are both really happy. Like rom com credits rolling with a bonus scene snuck in.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No. I've had some passive aggressively rude people, but nothing too bad.

ETA: actually I did have these people recommend my fic on a podcast but basically everything they said was like, “it’s just okay! there’s not any plot! I hated the title! I hated the dialogue!” but for some reason still were recommending it and I felt very like…okay, sure! about the whole thing. It was odd.

I also think people don’t believe writers are people. So it’s easy for BookTokers to go, “this is just another number to add to my 300 book EOTY goal and I don’t care how the writer will interpret what I say about it”.

9. Do you write smut?

I do! I think the really over the top hate for smut we see from people on IG/TikTok is an extension of far right talking points.

We read about people living their lives. People fuck. It’s okay to read about people fucking. If that’s not your jam, simply don’t read it.

10. Do you write crossovers?

I want to say no, but I did write a Dramione inspired by ATLA so who knows. Would I add Danny Phantom to my Hogwarts fics? Prob not.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge. Zee brought up a good point that AI data scraping is stealing, so I guess yes then.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! This Thing of Ours is being translated into Russian.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, I haven't.

14. What's your favorite all-time ship?

Dramione. Though I fear I have been dabbling in Ron/Harry. Just a little tiptoe.

And there was a month when I read a lot of Eddie Brock/Venom. On a whim. Never seen the movies. Love the concept of the, you know, *vague hand gestures to symbolize fucking the symbiote inside of you*

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Clutching the Pearl. I keep circling the drafted chapters, and trying to get back to it but there's always something shinier at the forefront of my mind.

I definitely intend to finish it. The delay just keeps extending.

16. Are there recurring themes you've noticed in your writing?

I really only want to write HEAs. I struggle terribly with angst.

I have written twice about characters hating peas. I’m not sure why. I really like peas! Molivier is Over Party.

There’s the whole DILF of it all. I love girl dad!Draco so much. I could probably shoehorn a DILF into every fic for the rest of my writing career, and be very pleased with my catalogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Chronic procrastinator. Like to a fault.

I also think I don’t have a consistent style. People will be like “oh I really like river bones, what else have you written?” And it’s like…many things!!! TBH!!! I just don’t know if you’ll go for a 200k multichapter about a magical wizarding mafia or a novel about FWB neighbors after reading my nontraditional take on a/b/o.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I did this! Writing in another language is hard, and I don’t know that I’d tackle it again unless absolutely necessary.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Sigh. I wrote Paramore fanfic as a kiddo. Then switched to All Time Low and The Maine. I wrote a lot of OC/band members back in the day.

I probably wouldn’t write real person ff these days, except I have read some ff based off Tombstone (1993) and even though Doc and Wyatt were real people my mind just goes Movies! Hot guys! Cowboys kissing! and I feel no guilt about it.

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

I like Beam Me Up, Swotty! because it was fun to write something really absurd.

Stylistically - river bones is a lot of fun. It’s so hard to write but I appreciate the challenge, and I think it’s pushed me a lot as a writer.

Story wise? The Utter Inconvenience of Certain Inclinations. I love hot dads and it was fun to write.

Hello - I just wanted to express my love for all your writing. It is simply stunning how well you write dramione as characters and together, you craft beautiful stories, your words are delicious! I am wondering though because I do not see it on your Ao3 page - what happened to your fic Clutching the Pearl? From my memory 20+ chapters of some God tier dramione and probably my favorite and most hilarious Theo Nott in my opinion - please tell me it's not gone forever? It was so fun and perfect on every level I truly hope not!

In short: Negative comments, insecurity and life got in the way.

When I hid Clutching the Pearl, I had no intention of it going away forever. I started the evision process and then other projects sort of piled up and demanded more attention. Every time I wanted to return to it, something else was right there. I received engagement that felt really critical, which made me, girl inability of gray thought, believe that the story itself had no legs. Time kept passing, CTP kept sitting, and I just lost a bit of drive for it.

I’ve heard that’s normal though. It was the first story I wrote when I went “I want to write!”. I was but a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed Babe getting back into fandom. I did the thing that everyone does—write write write and then immediately post and think like “this is good! surely someone will validate me!”

*cue sad trombone*

Anyway I’m a bit more confident in myself and my ability now. I found the voice and style that I was floundering for in the beginning. I delete negative comments nowadays.

I’d like to finish my current WIP, This Thing of Ours, focus more on river bones and the upcoming DKB fest and then work to complete and revise and finish CTP. The first 7 or so chapters just don’t fit for me but were Heavy in establishing Ron and Hermione’s relationship and dynamics with her and her friends, because that all affects the Dramione of it, ya know? So I need to figure out a way to rework all of that while still maintaining the oomph of the story.

*cue hopeful piccolo*

This is all my long-winded way of saying: Clutching the Pearl remains very important to me and it will be finished (eventually!). Thank you for caring enough to reach out about it. It means more than you know!

I JUST finished reading When You Wake Up and oh my god. I'm convinced you do magic with your words. it played like a movie !!!!

Honestly I don't know what to say, I just want to praise you endlessly bc that's how hooked you got me on this fic!!! oh my god.

You did him so so so so well, his characterization is that of a dream come true, I'm so enamoured by him GIRL HELP !!

hi! i just finished rereading When You Wake Up for the 3rd time!! it was such a joy to read!! i loved how beautifully you portrayed the dynamic between Caleb and reader. his characterization was written so authentically. i was wondering if you would ever possibly consider writing for Caleb again in the future? <3

I just read The Utter Inconvenience- I'm delighted beyond words. This piece has brought me interminable joy, I'm kicking my feet and giggling like a schoolgirl. "They both froze like small woodland creatures" took me out. I actually memorised that phrase, brilliant writing.

Aaaaah thank you for reading and letting me know you've enjoyed - it's been such fun to write (except for the recent Angst™) so I'm happy we all get to bask in a bit of tasteful soft dom DILF!Draco together. It's like a reward for, y'know, the horrors.
