Oh no!

The totally awesome asbulletproofglass, tagged me for molliehoopers “send me a number and a ship” post.

And here is wish number one: The 22 with Havoc/Catalina.

“Oh come on! You can’t be serious!”

She looked at herself in the mirror, taking in her attire. A bridesmaid’s gown was supposed to not be too pretty, but this?”

“Really, you want us walking around in this? That’s not fair! I’m never going to meet anybody, dressed like this!”

She looked like a matron! An elephant! Who would want her like this?!

“How am I ever going to meet a rich and handsome man, if you make me look like this?!”

Her friend was used to her temperament.

“Maybe lower your expectations. Or ad “nice” to them.”

“You’ll lead one of the bridesmaids down the aisle, okay?”

He hadn’t planned on getting dumped before the wedding. It had been going well between them, hadn’t it?

“I’ll make sure you get a pretty one.”

Pained groaning. The cigarette fell out of his mouth. Why couldn’t he be lucky at least once?!

“All the ladies will look at you, all dressed up in a suit. Maybe one of them has bad sight.”

His friend snickered. Why had he expected sympathy again?

The big day and both were trying their best to smile. Visiting a wedding when single, was depressing. Even more so, when neither bride, nor groom, seemed to have any taste in clothing. They were also forced to look at all the other couples.

Fullmetal and his girlfriend, sitting front row, Alphonse and that xingese princess next to them, holding hands. Falman was there, with wife and kids, as was the General of Briggs, complete with husband, toddler and baby bump. At least someone would scatter flowers where they walked. Furey dated someone named Sheska, who worked in the record department. Even Breda had shown up with a date. Was nobody single anymore?!

Damn them, and their happiness!

“Don’t tell me it’s you I have to walk down the aisle with!”

Rebecca Catalina stood to his right, fists balled. Angry as he had ever seen her. He shifted the cigarette in his mouth.

“For the thousand time: Mustang had us relocated to Central! I had to break it up!” Did they really had to talk about this every time they met? “But nice to know, that you’re still hung up on the Havoc.”

She plucked the cigarette right out of his grinning mouth.

“Good thing you ended it too! Smelled like a damn ash tray!”

“And you look like a manatee in this dress! If you ever want to find a man, I’d advise you to get rich!”

Someone asked them to get into position. She looped her arm through his. The music started to play and the flower girls got to work. Both of them stared at Roy Mustang, standing at the end of the aisle.

“It really it his fault, that we had to break up in East City, isn’t it?”

“Yes. Riza could have done better.”

Silence.

“So, want to get drunk with me at the reception?”

He felt her shrug.

“Consider it a date.”

i guess it depends on what you’re after - each one has different strengths and one may be better at one subject, but weaker at another. plus cambridge is meant to be more beautiful, but oxford has a great atmosphere
