I am usually wary of the "Fall of ..." type of content on youtube (often sensationalized click bait), but this is sadly one of the cases which is spot on and well argumented. First the trans comments, then the "minority" ones, its like a musician shifts into far right rhetoric while completely abandoning not just their music base but the ideals it stood for. Gaza already exposed (and still is) a lot of celebrities as it is, but its interesting how often other examples (Sharon Osborne, JK Rowling) not only align with the pro IL crowd, but also very much the (far) right politicians on other issues and slogans even while pretending to have nothing with them (i would never call any of them even remotely progressive). Yet the words coming out of them are straight of of those ultra right wing textbooks on immigrants, lgbt and everything else. And the people defending them are predominantly the people that are supporters of those politicians that never showed any interest in the artist until they aligned with their agenda. Anyone even remotely critical of this within the artistic community and beyond has long abandoned and distanced themself from anything like this.
I used to like and listen to Roisin a lot (Moloko and her solo stuff) and honestly after this i no longer wish to do anything with her. There is always a line you draw and principles that come above any content that you might have once liked. It's not just the segment of people you attack that you alienate, it is also all those others that have empathy and steer away from the rightwing policies that are just as disgusted. Many artists doing this will have to learn that the hard way...
