I’m glad you like the song :) I didn’t read the book, but I saw the movie and it left a really big impression of me. But I am personally fascinated with post-apocalyptic worlds and human nature and how humans behave in such situations.

I just saw the trailer of the movie and from that I think it shows the dramatic theme of such an event a little better. The book consists most of the time of the describing of all the ash and the sadness of the nature, it's a little repetitive in my opinion, but well that's just my impression. It's very cool that you like such things :)

i didn’t know it was inspired by the book? how have i missed this? also, have you ever heard ‘no sound but the wind’ by editors? it was inspired with this book and it’s a magical song, really beautiful take on the theme and wonderful when played live

Yeah, when we got the book I thought hey cool it has the same name as a Hurts song and then I remembered they once said something about it and now I did again some research and it is not directly inspired by it, but Theo read it three times while they wrote Exile. Here's the article. I just listened to it, it's a stunning song! Wow, it's really beautiful! If the book would carry these atmosphere so nicely, I think I'd like it more.
