"I think it's confusing for both of them... They share a responsibility to take care of whoever the fuck is around them. Being in a partnership that's platonic but they both love each other... They need each other so desperately and they don't understand what it really means. And that's all I can really say. "

Honestly that "she is" was so simple and essential yet still full of meaning. We didn't need cheesy confessions or dramatic touches to get the feelings. All that we had to know and acknowledge was in those two words. And it's so important because, at least for me, I could really feel, bring to my mind and live again all their background story, since the pilot. I could really feel all their shared experiences, both painful and joyful. She's so important to him also because of what they've been through together. That's maybe the biggest reason why I love bellarke so much: they don't really need to show or demonstrate their love, it's already there. And we all felt it once again.
Mama Bear is OUT
So here’s the thing........I’m pissed. I’m pissed because of the fall out I have already seen in my work.
See, out here in the real world, I’m an elementary teacher. I teach Pre-k to Second grade ESL at a mostly latino school. And these are my thoughts on the fallout of Trump so far: Some of my children are scared.
As a teacher I’m very protective over the well being of all 250 students under my care, both while I am in they’re classroom or out. . 10 full to brim classrooms. This morning during breakfast I interacted with a 6 year old who is normally all smiles and happy. He wouldn’t even speak to me. I asked if he was just tired. He shook his head no. I asked if he felt sick. Again no. If something happened on the bus. No. I finally asked the question I myself had been scared to ask.
“Are you scared?”
Yes.
I asked about what.
One word.
Trump.
No normally happy 6 year old child (I repeat CHILD) should have to be scared to the point of being nonverbal because of a presidential election. No principal should have to have an announcement in the morning advocating for the entire student body that teachers and the counselors are here to talk if you are scared because of Trump. This man has instilled fear into the hearts of small beings that, even on their most obnoxious days, are dear to my heart. I know that my student from this morning is not the only one in the school or country feeling this way. Mama Bear is out and I will fight for my students and school to have a voice in this world of increased fear. I, as a white blonde haired green eyed nasty american woman, will use my privilege to protect, defend, and give a voice to those trusted to my care. Teaching isn’t about learning material. Caring for your students doesn’t stop when they get on the bus. It doesn’t even stop when they “stop being your kid”. I will never stop fighting for them.
So if you still feel like it was a good idea to vote for Trump, look deep into the eyes of a 6 year old who is afraid of him. Really look. Then tell me if you still think that “man” is fit to lead.
