Best Valentine’s Day Ever

Had a really fun date today with Adalina. Let’s see, we got coffee, lunch, had a walk in the park. Was really relaxing but I feel like I’m forgetting something. We fed some ducks but that’s not it. What was it again OH YEAH-

AHHHHH I’M ENGAGED HOLY SHIT YES! AKJFLKEJFLEKJBFLWJKEF Erm, I mean well isn’t that amazing?

So I know you’re wondering who popped the question? So are we! Because we kind of both did, like almost at the exact same time. Ok to be fair Addy beat my by like 4 seconds. The moment was perfect and I reached into my pocket to pull out the ring and my hand got stuck, and by the time I got it back out she was already holding another ring of her own.

Seems right since he started this whole blog to begin with. So that makes today my offical final post. I guess I went out with a bang. No pressure Jonathan but try topping that! In all seriousness though, thanks man. If I hadn’t gotten this job I’d have never met Addy. Consider this my official invitation to be one of my bridesmaids. I promise I’ll let you wear a matching kilt instead of a dress. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to pick up a pizza for my fiancee and I!

Important Update from MoMao

Important safety announcement from the Department of Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office

As Halloween fast approaches we feel the need to once again remind all witches and wizards that it is strictly illegal to place charms of any sort on decorations being used in muggle neighborhoods. While you might think that a small spell on the scarecrow in your front yard might be good for a scary laugh it also puts yourself and the unsuspecting nonmagic public at risk.

We need not remind everyone of the creeping cobweb problem that took place last year in Hampshire, or the self-replicating jack-o-lantern incident of 1997. It took a full 4 years to eradicate every pumpkin.

We hope that everybody has a fun and safe Halloween. For those of us spending the Holiday in muggle territory there are countless ways to remain spooky and exciting without the need of putting yourself or others at risk. Happy Halloween from everybody at the Ministry of Magic!

As a final note, I know there are still rumors that some rogue jack-o-lanterns are still out there. This of course is all just stories people share over a campfire. The threat has been taken care of… But on the off chance you happen to come across a carved pumpkin that seems to move from place to place while you aren’t looking please contact your nearest Ministry agent immediately.

This Magic Moment

Addy and I never liked the pressure of having one person in the relationship making all the plans for date night. So we split Valentine’s Day down the middle.

I took her to a symphonic exploration on the history of magic as it interacts with classical nomaj instruments. She took me to an arcade that serves wine and hotwings.

I think we’ve officially mastered this whole “relationship” thing.

Second Year on the Job

Where in the world do I begin? Hello, my name is Jonathan Dart, and as of one year ago today, I am the official lead of the IT department at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.

You read that correctly. For one crazy year now I’ve been maintaining the technological necessities of both students and professors alike.

In that time I’ve made countless friends, discovered exciting new things in this insane world around me, punched a man in the face, tricked the school into buying me a coffee maker, caused a school-wide arguement over the logistics of lightsabers and magic, adopted a pig, compared Lockhart’s love for alliteration with ‘Magic Tree House’ novels, accidentally portkeyed myself into a government official’s apartment, and began dating an amazing girl who can change her own face at will.

But beyond all that, I somehow managed to find an outstandingly amazing group of readers. From the fateful day in which I went from 3 subscribers to 10,000, all the way up until today where we receive messages and comments daily from dedicated fans. You are the reason I am still here. You are the reason why I am still updating.

Quick Inquiry for Jonathan

Hello Sweetheart

At your earliest convenience, we received a rather odd artifact in the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office. I would like some feedback on it from your muggle friend, the one who accidentally portkeyed into my studio apartment a few months back.

At first we believed it was a matter for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, but the small being that refers to itself as “Furby” may in fact be mechanical in nature.

I have it locked in a cage for sake of precaution, but I am getting worried for its well being as I don’t know what to feed it.

Had the “pleasure” of meeting Eduade Despard yesterday. It took me a few moments to recognizing his name from the conversations I had with you at Hogsmeade. He had contacted my department to report an “illegally enchanted sentient telephone.”

I flew the entire way there only to find that some poor Drunstrang student had asked Cortana for movie times, and Eduade refused to believe that a muggle device was capable of doing such sorcery without magical aid.
