The Last First Day on the Job

Unlike my boss, I know exactly where to begin. The same place he did. Hello, my name is Billy Broadview, and as of today I am officially a member of the IT Department at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.

You read that correctly, and presuming you’ve followed us from the begining you already know exactly what that entails. Myself, Jonathan Dart, and Emily Vargo are the front line for all things technical at Hogwarts. Be that WiFi trouble, acceptance emails, teaching ancient Professors how to format a Word document, or outhacking a Wizard with a grudge from a Nintendo 3DS (you’re welcome).

But all of that chaos aside, I’d like to think that our real job is keeping Witches and Wizards such as myself a little more grounded in reality through logic, humor, and compassion. And, while I’ve given him more headaches than I can count over the last 3 years, I can say without question that my mentor Jonathan has done that job better than anybody else ever could have. For that, we thank you sir.

As for me, it’s day one and I already know exactly what my first project will be. An app that updates house points in real time for students. All I need is Adalina’s permission to bend The Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office’s Article 38 and hook an electric scale to the hourglasses. Shouldn’t be too hard, I’m friends with her fiancee.

But I digress, I have to get to work- and considering most of you have probably been reading this blog at your office desk while nobody is looking, I’ll assume you do too.

For the final time, this is your in-house magical information technology guy, a Setup Wizard of sorts, signing out.

Vietnam Chronology :) 

Hey lovelies, 

I have both my U.S. History final and Chemistry final on Tuesday. I have been studying so hard, that I feel like my brain is actually fried lmao. Here is a quote from Tony Robbins that really speaks to me. I was sick for the past week which was very stressful since I have finals, yet I was able to focus my time on my mental and physical health that I realized that if you put yourself first, the rest will fall into place (obviously with some caffeine and dog cuddles).

One for the Road

Well, today will be my personal final update on the blog. Don’t worry, we also have one left tomorrow.

I just want to thank my readers for all the amazing support over the last three years. A big thank you to whomever screenshotted a bunch of our updates early on and posted them on Reddit and Imgur back in 2016. Getting that first 10,000 subscribers in a single day is one of the most insane moments of my life, and that’s coming from a guy who works at Hogwarts. I’m still pretty shocked we made as many news sites as we did that day. Very few people can say they’ve had both Businessinsider and Seventeen Magazine give them a shoutout. 

Of course Emily and I aren’t going anywhere. We’ll still be here, doing our best to keep everything up and running as always. After all, we’re the most amazing IT department in the entire world.

As for me, I think I’ve earned a few vacation days after all of this. Jess and I have a few cities in the UK lined up first, then maybe next year a trip to the alps. Can’t leave my post unmanned though, so I decided to hire somebody new. Didn’t bother putting out an ad this time. I already knew the perfect guy for the job.

Oh, and I made a promise back on December 5th. So for the first and last time on this blog. “Fuck”
