Okay hi I wanna pitch in here bc pregnancy and motherhood is one of my interests, and maybe some people do not know this if they haven't been in the community! But milk overproduction is a thing, as well as babies who won't drink, and many people pump for relief and then donate or sell the milk to their local community for parents who can't produce! Excess milk is also frozen, and in some households used as a milk or cream substitute before expiration. Also, while is rare for humans to, almost all placenta-producing animals eat their placenta (as far as I know, only aquatic animals, camels and humans don't), and chickens will eat their own eggs for nutrients when not fertilized (some chicken rescues use this as sole practice/leave the choice up to the hens or help feed it back). There is some medicinal and cosmetic usage of placenta, both personal and commercial, but I believe that's most common in Vietnam and China. Anyway, all this to say the blocks of eating our own stuff is cultural and due to our place in the food chain, but I think anthro culture would be a hybrid of animal and human cultures, so I think these would be practiced and not seen as weird, just perhaps more luxury or in-family items if it is a more ethical world that shares our reproductive cycles. But I'm sure they'd have their own vegan circles too, where they just might feel weird consuming from anything that close to them in the food chain. It's fun to think about, thanks for reading!
Yaaay thank you for this insight ^_^ i frgot overproduction cld be a thing❗i knew ab the chickens but more in the context of eating the egg shells (+ egg shells being used for gardening) vs the whole thing.
It is fun to think about and I like this ^_^ I agree about having their own sort of vegan circles! Whenever i write up ideas about furryverse I consider that maybe not all anthros would think a certain way about something so yes, maybe its generally Not Weird but there a few furs who have personal reasons for not doing so/general different opinions.
Tysm! This really fleshes out + helps with what I put out ^_^ I rlly like the thought of it being a casual + community thing (neighbor cld give you extra milk not being used, chicken cld do the beas/tars thing and do her best to produce good eggs to then sell batches of at farmers market, etc)
