Let the foooods begin!! One more day until Chinese New Year. If your craving Chinese food today, either get take out or go to @Pandaexpress. The Chinese restaurants are super crazy busy because everyone and their ginormous families are eating out. The atmosphere will definitely be loud. Just like dim sum! Everyone yelling, trying to start a conversation across the table, it’s madness.. but fun! Now, that I am married and I have kids, it’s custom to follow the husbands family for dinner. Weird right? Well let me tell you, I believe in equal rights, I believe everything should be fair. One night, we would celebrate dinner with my side of the family, and on the Eve of Chinese New Year’s, would be with his side. Win win! Both sides of the family are happy and for sure the kids are excited and anxious to receive red envelopes from both sides. When Chinese New Year dishes are being served, you will practically see the same dishes anywhere you go, because the ingredients that are used represents some sort of bountiful prosperity for the new year. You will see noodle dishes (for longevity), fish (surplus), sea cucumber (happiness), green vegetables (evergreen), chicken/small pig (completeness).
