So I read this great headcanon (/post/165222118255/) by @momnar, and wound up writing a fic inspired by it! It’s my first time posting fic since 2011, so thanks, TAZ.
Top five fancy-people dishes/desserts/hors d'oeuvres you'd want to try if money was no object
Oh man. That’s a hard one cause I have made/tried a lot of fancy foods already… And like, a lot of fancy things are actually not really worth the cash in my opinion?? Sure gold flake is pretty, but it doesn’t justify $5000 for one meal. A $10 000 bottle of wine might be better than a $10 bottle but I doubt it will be different enough to justify the cost beyond bragging rights… I mostly go for things that have an experience to them liiike:
5) Those restaurants where you can fish up what you’re going to cook and they cook it right away for you. There were shrimp fishing restaurants like this in Taiwan, but I sadly did not get a chance to go to one.
4) Any of those chocolate dessert orbs where they pour a sauce over it and it melts away and has a cake under it. Literally any of them.
3) Molecular Gastronomy. Vaporize my soup. Turn my drink into fancy jello orbs. Do it. UNLEASH SCIENCE ON MY FOOD.
2) Dog Cafe. They exist. Give me the puppies. I’m allergic to cats.
1) Those restaurants where you dine in the dark. There’s one in Toronto and all the waiters are blind too. I’ve been wanting to go forever, but alas, no time or money.
Edit: NOTHING WITH LAVENDER, YOU HEATHEN. THAT’S NOT FOOD. AND ROSEWATER IS OUT TOO.

finishing up my final folklore paper that was due 4 days ago, ordering the last of my christmas gifts for my fam, and my roommate @momnar is singing a heartfelt rendition of the lion king theme while making apple cider and pruning the basil plant at 2:30am you could say its finals week
