21 days late, but I think I can finally brush myself off the ground and get movin again. I also just wanted a more personal icon of Monarch (the sona).
Perhaps I should give them a ref sometime once I get the ball rolling again OvO

I have babies! I found two tiny tiny tiny monarch caterpillars in my garden, the first babies of autumn! And also an egg which hatched this morning. The first two are named Funk and Soul in honor of BTS’s Dynamite, and the egg hatchling is named Moon. Here’s Tiny Joon to show scale.
All my spring/early summer caterpillars died of a suspected virus (guessed at by the much more expert monarch butterfly Facebook group). Last year I had NO deaths, so it was a big change. I also recently collected a J-ing caterpillar from the park, and he successfully turned into a chrysalis but then he died. I do have one other chrysalis I found in the park, and she’s still doing ok. Her name is Fire. Good luck Fire!
When they come from the park, I don’t know what conditions they’ve been exposed to, so it’s best to collect egg and TINY babies at home. Hopefully my three tinies, all from my home garden, will be healthy.
