Every once in awhile at Hope's Peak, Sonia grew tired of the cafeteria food. She had been in awe of the school's communal dining room when she'd first arrived, with so many of her favorite Japanese dishes consistently available, but even tempura and yakitori grew predictable after awhile. She'd had enough of predictability back in Novoselic. Here in Japan, Sonia craved adventure, freedom, but most importantly, being judged as a girl instead of a princess.
After her final class of the day, she'd bid farewell to her friends in class 77-B and made her way off school grounds. In the abundance of fast food restaurants, arcades, and karaoke establishments nearby for the world's best and brightest to let off steam, the European cafe a block away was largely forgotten. But it was ideal for a pot of black tea, a slice of cake, and most often, solitude.
But that wasn't the case today. Sonia took residence at a corner table, a steaming teapot in the center as she perused the menu to decide on a sweet indulgence as reserve students chatted amiably amongst themselves, several gawking at her blue eyes and long blonde hair.
"I wish I wasn't the only foreign exchange student in here..." Sonia muttered, hiding her pale face behind the menu. En masse, this was almost as unbearable as the affections from her classmate, Kazuichi Souda.
Perhaps she'd run into some of Komaeda's luck. She got her wish. Staring past the droves of chattering teens, she spotted a girl with brown hair and green eyes whose unique features also stood out in the crowd. While there were plenty of 'ultimates,' their school was still a tight-knit community. Sonia had a vague idea of the students who comprised the other classes.
"You are Toyama, correct?" Sonia called over to the other girl with a smile, gesturing to the chair across from her. "I will not need two chairs for myself. You are most welcome to share my table if you like."
