With a shuddering sigh he pulled his cloak a bit further past his shoulders, trudging through the sludge like remains of blood mixed with dirt.
It was just a bunch of Bronze, but a piece of him still felt bad about the fate of such an abundant Caste, he knew others were still alive in the Bronze Caste though.
This would be the one time he was glad he was a recluse and missed out on mass extinction of his Caste. He didn't serve any extreme purpose anyways, he was just another Purple blood to his knowledge, so he lived on the edge of society.
He kept walking and walking, it was cold to a surprising amount, but he didn't have much time to think about that when he heard whimpering. He just barely picked up the faint, quiet sound as he continued to walk along the ruins of a sugruban neighborhood.
When Gamzee reached the source of the sound, he found a Troll with impossibly large horns.
"Help," was what said Troll whimpered upon seeing Gamzee.
Normally Gamzee would continue walking, but this time he didn't just leave. He pushed aside a rock or two, finding Bronze oozing from the Trolls legs, destroyed. The wheelchair that was presumably theirs was also broken beyond repair, not good. The Troll kept whimpering as they tried to get to their feet, screaming as pressure was placed on their legs.
"What's your name brother?" Gamzee asked as he placed an arm around the Trolls back and under their arms to help support and drag them along.
"Tavros Nitram, and you?" Tavros asked, Gamzee grinned a bit, realizing he knew this Troll.
"Gamzee mother fucking Makara, we finally meet in person and shits totally fucked," Gamzee said a little bit annoyed despite his grinning, Tavros gave a weak smile as well, "I was hoping that we could get some fast food when we met, have a dinosaur laser fight or some shit with Terezi."
"Yeah, that would've been awesome, I don't think thats happening anytime soon though," Tavros said, looking to the ground a little bit, he froze up entirely at the sound of a heavy footstep.
"You good?" Gamzee asked gently, turning a bit to see what it was, finding a towering creature, or, at least it appeared to be towering given the distance.
It had no eyes, only a mouth filled with hundreds of fangs coated in Bronze, the same tone was smattered across its lanky form. Its skin, maybe it was fur or scales though, whatever it was had a dark, ashen tone as though it was a shadow walking. It looked like it was hungry, trudging back and forth through the ruins for any stragglers, its arms long and hulking, only claws without definable fingers.
"R-Run, leave me behind, run," was all that Tavros said, instead of doing as told, Gamzee pulled the Bronze blood onto his back a little bit more before leaving, trying to find a hiding spot.
"I just met you in person and you think I'm letting you die, I'll go sober before that happens," Gamzee said, his tone flat and grim as he surveyed the ruination of the neighborhood, finding what appeared to be a hatch in the ground.
"Its not worth it Gamzee, just leave me to die," Tavros said, trying to be heroic and sacrifice himself for the greater good, Gamzee was not having that specific flavor shit today.
"Hold your tongue, don't make a fucking sound," Gamzee stated seconds before dropping Tavros and crouching down, gripping the latch and yanking as hard as he could.
The hinges creaked and groaned as wood threatened to splinter under his yanking. He was getting agitated with how much force the cellar doors had against him, he pushed harder though. It came loose and he threw it fully open, gripping Tavros next before yanking and pushing him in, the Bronze blood groaning.
The creature heard, turning slowly and amorphously to face Gamzee who dropped in next, pulling the hatch closed.
"Ow..." Tavros whined, Gamzee placed a hand over his mouth.
"Shut it, that thing is strong enough to tear the door in half and then tear us in half," Gamzee stated quietly yet firmly, Tavros nodded before they descended to the bottom, the temperature like ice.
Tavros was fine, his blood temperature automatically warm, so he was practically a space heater. Gamzee on the other hand was not, his blood was naturally frigid, his hive full of heaters. He was shivering and leaning into Tavros who wrapped an arm around his back.
They would have to sit this one out.
