Monday Morsel
Edits are still yet to come (thanks in advance to my beta/cheerleader @hgejfmw-hgejhsf) but I thought since I finished chapter 7 (of total 13), I could give you all a little tidbit. Happy Monday! Happy April!
“Hot librarian?” Henry repeats, holding a cardigan. “What on earth is that supposed to mean?” Alex pulls his t-shirt over his head and takes Henry’s cardigan from his hands, helping him into it and buttoning it. It’s strange for a second; he spends much more time helping Henry get undressed than dressed, but there’s something about this simple act that’s achingly intimate. “Sweetheart,” he starts. “Your usual choice of wardrobe is very…” he hesitates, trying to find the right word. “Professor. Librarian. Academic.” “Then where does the ‘hot’ part of ‘hot librarian’ come in?” Henry asks. “I’m still quite confused.” “Oh, baby,” Alex says, dropping a kiss on Henry’s nose. “The ‘hot’ part is just you, existing.” Henry’s shoulders drop and he starts laughing too. “C’mon, babe,” Alex continues, and he pulls his sweater over his head. “Let’s go make breakfast.”
And one from an earlier adventure because I'm feeling generous.
“Just musing on our adventure today, love,” Henry says, slipping an arm around Alex to bring him closer and pressing a kiss to his curls. “Mmm,” Alex hums. “Somethin’ good?” “No, it’s something awful,” Henry teases. “I picked out a terrible adventure. You’re going to hate it, and you’re going to break up with me.” “Don’t,” Alex whines. “It’s too early for sarcasm. I need coffee.” “The coffee lives downstairs,” Henry reminds him. “Stupid idea,” Alex grumbles. “We should get another coffee maker for the bedroom.” “Absolutely not!” Alex already drinks far too much coffee and Henry often has to convince him to stop or slow down; he can’t imagine how bad it would be if they had a coffee maker in their room. He’d already vetoed one in the office; they’d agreed on a water cooler instead.
