Back in the late 90's, I was cast as Piki Matsumoto- a character who was so special in a show ahead of its time- Piki and Poko: Adventures in Starland. It's about 2 girls out to save Starland, and all the unique characters they met along the way. In 2011, I wrote a blog: "It's in the stars for Piki and Poko" - all these years later, I got a comment last night that made me even more proud to be a part of something so treasured. For some reason, it won't show up on the blog, so I'm sharing it here. Whoever "Anonymous" is, I want to thank them for their courage and strength in a very confused and unfair world where being 'different' isn't always respected. "I have missed Piki and Poko more than words can ever express. To be a closeted Queer kid in a Southern town back then was to wait 2 hours for a short movie to download from PlanetOut. The threads were so tenuous. Piki and Poko brought a real hope into that grey waiting. I know this show likely won't ever be continued. But I still dream, hope. I am ever in the Yes. "
