I took this photo from the outside of the Dirang Monastery. Besides, I have seen this Chakra many times whenever I went to a Monastery or a Buddhist temple. I always have a wander about this Cycle and now I got to know about this Chakra and I thought I should share with you all. So here is the Meaning of this Chakra. . . The Bhavacakra (Wheel of life) . . It is a symbolic representation of samsara (or cyclic existence). It is found on the outside walls of Tibetan Buddhist temples and monasteries in the Indo-Tibetan region, to help ordinary people understand Buddhist teachings. as per the Buddhist anthology, existence is a cycle of life, death, rebirth, and suffering that they seek to escape altogether. The Wheel is divided into five or six realms, or states, into which a soul can be reborn. It is held by a demon. Around the rim are depicted the twelve stages of dependent origination. They say that the historical Buddha himself created the first depiction of the Bhavacakra, and the story of how he gave the illustration to King Rudrayana appears in the anthology of Buddhist narratives called the Divyavadana. . . .
