Dutch designer Marcel Wanders and Bas Maas have created the Whisperviolin, an entirely new, ingenious, lower-decibel instrument, inspired by and loosely modeled on the 17th-century pochette violin to explore the world of quieter sounds for Violinist Monica Germino who was diagnosed with hyperacusis (extreme sensitivity to sound).
