Why is Christian always live on FB when I'm out and don't have wifi?! AGHHHH

Aw…well, if you’re referring to Christian and Circe’s live show (with Nez as a special guest) last weekend, it’s still available to watch on FB (which fortunately archives live videos). You can watch it HERE. Also, a list of things that happened over the course of this show, for those curious:

- Nez’s ass facing the camera in yellow (sometimes blue) shorts

- Fart jokes from Nez (“Pull my finger!”)

- Un-Nez-cessary arm movements

- Weird facial expressions from Nez while sitting in the background

- Nez imitating Circe’s mom (Princess Gwen flashbacks, much?)

- Nez singing backing vocals in a high-pitched voice

- Nez wandering around oblivious, fixing cables/moving glasses/offering sound tips/otherwise fully being Papa Nez

- Nez PLAYED HIS NOSE WTF

- Christian being upstaged by his own dad in hilarious fashion, on multiple occasions

A very Happy Birthday today to the lovely and multi-talented Annabel Jones! For those who may not know, Ms. Annabel is a super groovy musician, as well as being Davy’s youngest daughter and one cool chick herself. Here’s to many happy returns!

So sad to report that rock n' roll legend Chuck Berry has passed away today at the age of 90. (Monkees fans may best know Chuck Berry as the writer of "Johnny B. Goode," the song that Micky sang at his Monkees audition in 1965.)

Do you still sincerely stand by your tribute to Jimmy Savile when he died? Considering the vile monster he was?

Hello there! The post in question was made in 2011, at which time neither myself nor Moondreams (who wrote the post) had any idea of Savile’s prolonged depraved actions and behavior (it appears that the news stories about it did not come out until three years later). The brutal heinousness of Savile’s character in no way reflects what we here at Naked Persimmon stand for, and that post was made only due to his interactions with the Monkees (as this is a Monkees blog). Had such information been available at the time, the tribute post most certainly would not have happened. So, basically: Knowing what we now do about Jimmy Savile, we definitely do not stand by the tribute post, but hopefully this answer gives some context to why it was made in the first place.

Sometimes I forget.

I get all twisted up, you know. Wrapped up, contorted in my own head and emotions when all this drama is afoot in the Monkees fandom.

So sometimes I forget. I forget about all the experiences that I’ve had, the people I’ve met who I considered my heroes, and the interactions I’ve had with them that have meant more than I can ever hope to express. I forget who I have in my corner and the things I could share with people that would shut them down in a second.

Sometimes I forget that the things I’m doing with my life are meaningful. The things I am doing are important, significant, and where my focus needs to be, instead of on these other things. I forget that I’m working to change the world, and I can’t stop or get distracted along the way, because that is not my audience. The people out there who need help are.

Sometimes I forget. So now I am remembering, steeling, pressing onward, wearing this knowledge as a shield. Because I don’t want to forget, and I’m not going to let anyone make me.
