The first few Murderbot Diaries are just Murderbot looking at its humans and thinking those are not its monkeys, it’s just using them to get to its circus. Until it has to realize that dammit those are its monkeys and it needs to get them out of this circus.

maybe this is mean but flashing shane’s skinny little arm when she lifted the sledgehammer & then going into a cringey thirst trap scene was the funniest thing i’ve ever seen

1 I love it how supportive and caring Sprx can be to Chiro. In 'Magnetic Menace' the first thing Sprx does when he sees Chiro again (after being kidnapped and losing his arms to Scrapperton, no less) is to ask him if he's Ok. In 'Hunt for the Citadel of Bone' he was ready to straight out murder Quint who he was fanboying over the moment he realized he put Chiro in danger. In 'Girl Trouble' Sprx was the only one who wasn't mad at Chiro for running away and tried to calm the girls' father

2 by saying that Chiro was a good kid and thus would never hurt them. In the first two seasons he's the one who understands Chiro the best and often gets him away from danger. And his calling Chiro 'kid' makes this dynamic even more heartwarming.

Yessss.

Sprx’s number one priority in any given situation is Chiro & the rest of the team. He’s always encouraging Chiro to just be a kid & take time off from the stress of being the leader/Chosen One, which is just. REALLY nice to see. 

So many mentors tend to push their mentees into growing up faster than their peers, bc of their “great destiny” or some such (lookin’ at you, Dumbledore... tho i guess sometimes u tried to give Harry a childhood). And so to see Sprx (and the rest of the monkeys, truthfully) pushing Chiro to embrace the typical interests of his age is good!! 

And YES, I love that he calls him kid. It’s. So good. That little piece of dialogue--the nickname, the way it’s said--says SO MUCH about their relationship. Without having to explain a thing. 

And then something else I love about it, is that the nickname is not demeaning him---not the way it’s used in some shows. It’s a fond nickname that Chiro never argues with, just responds to the same way anything else. & it’s a reminder, too. To the audience, to the other monkeys, to the people around them, to Chiro, and likely even to Sprx himself. Whatever else Chiro is, whatever else he’s capable of, he is still a child/young teenager.

So since I posted about my characters, how did everyone react when they first washed up to shore?

(Referring to these lovely ocs for TASI)

Ragatha, Pomni, and Gangle would all feel a bit of horror and sadness over the fact that two young children have been lost at sea and will now have to live on this island for the foreseeable future. Jax was annoyed at the idea of having to deal with two brats now. Zooble felt bad that a couple of kids ended up there. Kinger’s just vibing man.

Ragatha would of course take to trying to mother and care for them. Ultimate mom friend worried for these children, she wants them to be safe and happy best they can in the situation.

Pomni would also help out with caring for them but in more of an awkward babysitter/older family member kind of way. She likes the kids and also wants them to be safe and happy but she’s not really parent/guardian material at the time.

Gangle acts more like an older sister with them. Playing games and entertaining them as best she can. Still kinda awkward but it’s easier to hang around kids without worrying about judgement.

Zooble is also sad about the idea of two kids ending up stuck on the island but doesn’t let it bother them too much. Yeah it sucks but we can’t do anything but move on. They’re not exactly sure how to act with young kids but they try to be nice and entertain them when around. Like an older cousin hanging around.

Kinger naturally exudes dad vibes lol. But it’s definitely more noticeable the more lucid he is. He’s happy to care and play with the kids but there’s always some layer of guilt haunting him.

Jax is the one to loudly complain that he’s not going to be on babysitting duty and overall avoids anything regarding caretaking with them. He’s still an ass but not quite as much with them. Like an older brother that flicks you in the back of the head and calls you a baby but when it counts is willing to protect them.

Caine is always happy to have new friends arrive at his island! He doesn’t really have a great concept on ages, it’s just an even smaller grumps right? He’d be thrilled to have anyone that actually wants to interact with him more than the usual group does!

I’m pretty sure Glisten has memory problems and they’re probably linked to him overusing his teleportation. In a few dialogs he completely forgets certain obvious things before playing it off as a joke of sorts because he lets be honest he would never admit to having a problem.

Emergency commissions for a pet emergency

My cat Bootsie has been deteriorating recently. For weeks he’s been eating less and less until now where he’s refusing to eat at all and struggles to keep water down. I took him to a vet clinic but they were unable to diagnose him and recommend taking him to an emergency clinic to have him hospitalized.

I’m unsure how much this will cost at the moment but there is no doubt it will begin to reach into the thousands as just a single visit will cost 170$ As such i am once again pushing my commissions
