Dangerkat Vogue Video Goes Viral!
Bluesy, funky, and ferocious, Giovanni James revives the energy of old-school soul on his debut EP. A veritable rock 'n' roll sermon, it serves up Little Richard swagger, Chuck Berry licks, and unhinged vocals, even throwing in a few decidedly modern touches for good measure. “Shame on You” fuses rockabilly and hip-hop, balancing steely guitar with rapid rhyme-spitting; the closing ballad "Walking Dead" puts a million-dollar shine on a sock-hop slow dance. And when, on the rousing, horn-peppered title track, he promises "I walk that walk ... I talk that talk," there's no doubting him.
