Another headcanon I have is for Nova based off of this:

Is that she really likes shiny rocks. This is actually something from when I first saw Season One fifteen years ago, and thought from these two instances that Nova and shiny rocks were going to be more of a reoccurring thing in canon.

That obviously ended up not happening, but darn it, if I want to image that Nova has a collection of shiny gems and stones from their travel, then I can.

(And this times into my Spottova twins AU, as now I thinking that Nova will want to name her precious baby girls something like ‘Ruby’ and ‘Emerald’)

I’ve actually had a couple of genetic headcanon’s for some of the monkeys for a while:

1. Antauri’s secondary color literally is purple, as in he is a carrier for the purple fur gene. I once tried to make a whole dominant-recessive table with all the team colors (I had to do something with all that high school-level genetics I learned) but for now I just have that black fur is dominate to purple fur, but Antauri still a carrier of it. I also like to think that it was his mother he inherited it from, so just image purple Antauri momma monkey :3

2. And speaking of carriers, Sprx is a carrier for albinism. This started as a joke as to why his red fur is so pinkish until I learned that albinism doesn’t work that way (it seems to be all or none like all other recessive traits, and a ‘partial albino’ can not exist) but I kept it because how how horrified he would be by the knowledge. Albinism doesn't just cause white fur, the characteristic red eyes result in damage to retinas, which in turn means issues with focus and depths perception. It’s not blindness, but it would be enough for Sprx who is already worried enough about his eyesight; knowing that he was basically one gene away from this would mortify him, despite the reassurance that the optical orbs would probably be able to counteract it.

You know how fandom loves to takes Sprx’s ‘I make great soup’ line from Snowbound as a basis for him being good at cooking?

Well, I take this scene from Incident on Ranger 7

and exaggerate it to be that Otto is the best monkey at all form of handicrafts.

That’s why in my fic Nova went to him to fix her punching bag (despite it not being anything mechanical) and he sewed her the teddy bears.

...I probably should have shared this piece of headcanon earlier, instead of leaving people to wonder why Otto suddenly was really good at sewing.
