A comicskyle Reflection MONKEY SQUAD ONE ANNUAL #2 So I'm a big fan of @monkeysquadone and for many reasons, not just for the brilliantly crafted comic you can read FOR FREE at http://www.monkeysquadone.com/?m=1 , but because of the Creator as well. First off, it's hard not to be a fan of Doug Michel. He has a way of marketing his comic by simply being himself and I attribute this to the fact that his comic, MONKEY SQUAD ONE, is an actual embodiment of Doug's creativity. Don't be mistaken here.. THIS is a very difficult thing to do. To completely radiate through a creation that contains people you know could only be done through one avenue and that avenue is named FUN. A comic that is fun to create is a fun comic to read. That sums up MS1 in a nutshell. Pure fun. The world he creates and the characters he puts in it open the door to an alternate reality where you can get in tune to the most meaningful elements of Doug's world: family, friends, mayhem, and comics. I truly believe that MS1 writes itself at times and that's a trait all great comics carry. The Annual #2 was done very nicely and as I read through I often found myself wondering ( between laughs ) if there'd ever be a spinoff for a character or two? The Pinup art gallery in the Annual was also fantastic and features some of the best underground creators on twitter. William Haders ( https://www.facebook.com/pages/William-Haders-Art/911857908830985 ) contribution was by far my favorite. It was truly fantastic to see how other creators ( and friends ) portrayed Doug's characters. I posted a picture of the back cover because It's totally rad. I'm a big of publishers and the logo for Fatman/Littleboy press is a beauty to behold. I hope they publish LOTS of comics. "So much fun this was. Get the Annual 2 you must."
