Monkey is healing very well! She had her staples removed. She still has some swelling & bruising, but that will go away eventually. Monkey & I thank everyone for your support! #monkeyupdate

Early this morning I had a difficult time getting Monkey to take her pain meds. She foamed at the mouth from the bitter pill. I noticed a few staples were loose in her belly cut & so called the emergency vet & my regular vet. My regular vet said he could squeeze us in in between surgeries & he removed the loose staples, restapled the gap & reassured me that the bruising on the her stomach was normal for that type of surgery. I asked him about her meds & described our situation & he suggested maybe not giving her the pain meds & seeing if that helps since she's having such a severe reaction to it. I'm going to carefully monitor her today & see what the best approach will be. Once again, thank you everyone for your support & sympathy! #monkeyupdate
