Oh my, you're like two hours away from me. Yea I'm don't really know of anything in the Ventura area. I'm from LA County but as far as meet-ups go I'm a bit more Orange County-based. I do know someone up in Ventura, though. Shes a good friend of mine and comes down for events around here a lot. Unless you drive, the events I go to would be near impossible to get to, though :c
