This summer has been a big one for members of the Cyclelogik // Human Power Performance Triathlon Team. The season started with a handful of top age group finished for Chris Sliwka, Robert Fabes, and Jessica Dempsey at Somersault Events triathlon series. Our 18 year old rising star Josh Nowlan took first in his age group at the Somersault Early Bird Triathlon. He continued to improve at ITU Nationals in Ottawa improving his place in the sprint competition and harassing his competition with repeated attacks on the bike during the exhibition race.
Pro-triathlete Jordan Monnink started the season with a 15th place overall in the pro field at the Oceanside 70.3. He continued to improve on that taking 6th place overall at Tremblant 70.3. Jordan continues to impress with great strides each year. He set a half iron half marathon PB with the 4th fastest run split at 70.3 Tremblant.
Heather Low kicked off her season at Gran Fondo New York determined to podium for a second year in a row. She crushed the competition taking first in her age group and 5th overall. She was joined at the American Triple T, a stage race-style triathlon event that features 4 triathlons in 3 days, by teammates Robyn and Kim. Heather and teammate Robyn Hardage dealt a one-two punch to the race taking the top 2 spots on the podium with teammate Kim Chretien finishing in 6th overall.
Kim Chretien dominated the entire field at the Sydenham Lakeside Triathlon taking 4th in the field, first overall, and first in her age group.
Robyn Hardage has fought her way back from knee surgery over the winter to take several top spots in big events this year. She took first in her age group and 3rd overall at 70.3 Syracuse. From there she tackled the Barry’s Bay Triathlon and took first overall. She went on to take IM Lake Placid by storm with a hard fought age group win and a 3rd place overall.
Leah West Sherriff started the season in Texas taking 3rd overall and 1st her in age category. She then tackled an event on her bucket list, The Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. Unfortunately she didn’t get to swim in the bay (the bucket list part of the event) but she did win her age group and took 9th place overall. At 70.3 Muskoka she dominated the field with a first place overall. An incredible achievement for this incredibly gifted athlete.
Look for these athletes at the HPP T-Zone rack at Somersault Events National Capital triathlon on July 29. If you’re new to triathlon rack up beside one of these experienced riders and feel free to ask them questions and take a look at their setups.
