is there a term for being apathetic to romance and, in general, aromantic EXCEPT for one person? ive dated 10+ ppl and cant rlly say i felt anything remotely romantic to them, but i have no reservations or difficulties being romantic w my current bf. i cannot feel romantic attraction save for this one anomaly, otherwise, ive got nothing. is it just gray aro or being monogamous? is that how romantic attraction works?
As far as I am aware, grey aromantic is the closest term that exists. I can understand how it might not feel a perfect fit for your scenario, however. Spooky and I have been talking, and they think a new term would be useful for you.
Monoaromantic: being apathetic to romance and generally aromantic with the exception of one single person. Someone who is monoaromantic will not know this is their romantic orientation until they have encountered the one person that is their exception.
