Here’s a question for the authors: A bit of a broad one, but how tf do you write. WHERE ARE YOU GETTING ALL THESE WORDS FROM I’M SCARED.

To be more specific, I struggle with coming up with ideas/events to move my stories along — I’m also a make-it-up-as-I-go writer, so I have the authors equivalent of Mining Fatigue III and as a result a lot of my works burning themselves out by chapter 2 😭😭😭

Do any of you have a system of sorts when writing the plot, like a basic outline or a timeline of major events — or is it just a “fuck it we ball” kind of thing? How do you all come up with ideas?

Do I need to do crack to write the crack. Bestow your wisdom 🥺

OK SO I HAVE A METHOD TO MY MADNESS. A METHOD, I SAY.

First of all, what I and some of my fellow authors do is commit a small list beforehand of what exactly we want done in the chapter. For me specifically, this list helps me actually figure out what the hell my brain wants.

This list, for me, has EVERYTHING. Every bit of thing i think of, my conversations with myself, my breakthroughs. I don't erase things once I've typed them down i just keep them as separate bullet points

Dunno if it'll work for you but it works for me!

^^ Then I just go ham with the above. At least a paragraph for each part in the list, and slowly my brain fills out things

For ideas, I actually just play animatics in my head and figure out how to translate that onto paper lol 😭 I write like the story is a movie I think lmao
