The Saint Of Never Getting It Right
When he wakes up, the blood has already cooled on Gustave's face. Light burns the back of his eyelids, the hot sun shining down on him, and that can't he right, can it? It was dark out, when they'd arrived on the beach, and there's no way that much time has passed. If it has, that means— the others— Maelle. -- Gustave wakes up after the massacre on the beach and comes to a horrible, impossible realization: something is preventing him, as well as the rest of the survivors, from staying dead.
