In the version of Les Mis I have, Grantaire's final lines are translated as: "Might as well kill two birds with one stone," "If you don't mind."
Now it might just be because I've only ever seen it translated as "Finish both of us at one blow," "Do you permit it?", but it just has far less impact and I feel like one of the most powerful moments in the book has been ruined for me. I'll probably have to read the whole book again in a better translation.
