Finnish is big on tango. I bet a lot of you didn't know that. It's true. Finnish tango is probably unheard of outside of Finland, but it's somewhat popular inside Finland, or at least as popular as the type of music I typically post can get. Tihs is one of the more iconic works of Finnish tango, called "Satumaa" (fairy land) about a land across the sea that the singer wishes to get to, but cannot. Finnish tango, like the rest of Finnish music, is often about melancholy themes. The song was originally by Unto Mononen. Reijo Taipale sings it here. Enjoy.
