Sometime back in 2015 I did a small quest called MonoRoom. It was a “three player” quest. DeviantArt, FurAffinity, and Tumblr had characters.
Was more or less a RubyQuest knockoff, but it was fun, and I learned quite a bit from it... even if I did abruptly cancel it.
So due to some schedule complications, it looks like I’ll be out for another week or so. I’ll try to get the HALL update done by this Sunday, but if not then, it’ll be at the latest on that Friday, I’d say.
Regardless, have some quickie MonoRoom doodle.
Every now and then I go back to Monoroom. I still dunno what I’m going to do with it as of yet.
Anyone who has followed me since 2015 probably remembers Monoroom to some extent (and if they don’t I don’t blame them). It was basically my first terribad foray into quests as a whole.
The main gimmick was that it was hosted on three different sites (DeviantArt, Tumblr, and FurAffinity) with each site controlling their own characters; they could communicate via writing on surfaces with a marker. DeviantArt’s character was Alice Behrens, a middle schooler who mysteriously ended up in the titular Monoroom hospital.
All in all, the entire project was kind of a mess (still somehow got one piece of fanart), and I want to re-do it at some point.
Oh, and I’ll never forget this panel.
I still find myself looking back at old MonoRoom panels. For those that don’t know, MonoRoom was probably my very first quest (did it around early 2015), and it’s main gimmick involved it being hosted on three different websites. Each website controlled a different character, and the only real interaction they had was through writing on the walls with a marker. So if website A wrote “Hello”, all other websites would see that, but not the character who wrote it.
This specific panel came from deviantArt’s character, Alice. Funnily enough, there was a poodle here too. Looks like I like drawing poodles.
