Bizzyboys!!

Just wanted to get a base down in terms of how I wanna draw em, just so I have an idea next time I make a full piece with one or more of them :}

Man going back through some older messages I used to be such a bizzyboy head... I miss those days honestly. Having more friends to yap to about this stuff during the height of my hyperfixation,, it all feels so dull now. All my closer friends have moved on, and while I love all the friends I've made from the ggg fandom, it juuuussst doesn't quite hit the same sigh.

Perhaps I'll share some of these older headcanons I made,, it's high time we got some more love for the other boys again. I miss when they *all* used to be popular, and there used to be so much different unique art and interpretations on each character....

Hellooooo! Fellow Godpoke fan here! :D I wanna see you ramble more, so here I am! What're your headcanons for Godpoke before they went to the Grove? How they grew up? We know so little about them the possibilities are near endless and I absolutely love that about them!

As before, I'm going to put everything under a cut because this is LONG. I've thought very long and hard about this guy and have much to share UEHEH

So, my version of Godpoke, as has already been discussed, is birdfolk - specifically a corvid (mother was a crow, father was a raven). To set the scene; the town they grew up in was small and isolated, located in the middle of a desert on earth. This town mostly consisted of other corvid birdfolk, with only a few humans n a couple drainfolk residing there. They lived by their own means; thriving off of their own farms, animals, wells, etc etc. It was quiet, it was small, everyone knew each other and there was little drama. Think like a classic western town, old-ish wooden buildings n such, you get the gist.

Godpoke was born with pretty weak vocal cords, it was very easy for them to lose their voice over time, but, they could previously talk with little to no issue. However, over time, their vocal cords began to deteriorate. Nothing too major, it just made talking a little difficult and painful for them at times, as well as their voice being quieter - on top of this, I think they also struggled with selective mutism, going mute in stressful situations. Otherwise, everything was fine!

Growing up, they had their own small trio of birdfolk friends who ended up becoming like older siblings to them. They grew up together doing small bits of farm work, learning to play instruments, how to ride horses, usual childhood things when you're alone in the desert. As a kid I think they were pretty bold; they were never afraid to say things when things needed to be said, always sticking up for their loved ones, sometimes even coming off as cocky, though always in a playful manor. Their only issue; they could never stick up for themself. Any anger or frustration that may have been directed at them would result in them going mute, thus relying on others to have their back, which they did!

At around 15-16 years old, they decided to move out and live with one of the friends in their trio, Esther (20), due to a falling out with their mother which had previously resulted in their father leaving. In return for Esther housing them, they would help her with work on her farm. It was around this time that they had also begun to pick up on carpentering and whittling; making a small living off of building and fixing horse carts, creating pieces of furniture, etc etc. Life was good, though they weren't fond of the early mornings on the farm. Them and Esther grew ever closer, and she became a strong support system for them whenever they needed it.

Around 17 years old, however, they became ill, which rapidly sped up the deterioration of their vocal cords. By the time they hit 19, they were completely mute. They could still whisper and make noise, but otherwise talking was essentially impossible for them. Whispering was too painful for them, and so they turned to sign language - this is where their community banded together to teach them their own, older sign language, since none of them knew "official" sign due to being so isolated.

At 21 years old, due to struggles with mental health, they made the impulsive decision to move away from their hometown to the city, mostly on the basis of believing they were a burden on their friends and family, due to them now having to cater to their muteness as well as their deteriorating mental health. City life was miserable for them. They felt as if they would never fit in. They lost their passion for their hobbies, and had almost completely dropped the things they loved such as wood carving and violin playing due to falling into a deep depression. They had no friends. They had no family. No one from their hometown knew where they were, or how they were doing. They had completely cut everyone off. They had gone from being confident and bold, to insecure and quiet within the span of a few months.

They've always been a huge fan of King, even before they lost their voice. Hearing of her adventures in the desert and her views and opinions always inspired them. She had become their number one interest, and meant a lot to them. Them losing their voice only strengthened their support for King becoming the next god, as after becoming mute they realised they took communication for granted. Never saying the things that should've been said, never appreciating the people that deserved it the most. Falling into this depression caused them to turn to King much more during these times, the only thing keeping them going being her ascension.

And this is where we get to the time of the game. Godpoke is 26 years old, it's been 7 years since they lost their voice and things have been hard as hell, but, they're finally able to see King. They head to the grove in hopes of seeking advice from her and to celebrate her ascension; hoping that they can find some new, better way to communicate from her, possibly even a way to restore their voice?

Obviously, the unexpected happens and godpoke receives Megapon. Their time on the boat with Hauzer is the first they're hearing of King's alleged betrayal to the gods. They're terrified that everything will have been for nothing, and that maybe King won't ascend. Maybe King wasn't the person they thought she was? But still, they continue on.

Throughout the game, as they get used to Megapon, they realise that they never lost their ability to connect and communicate with people. They begin to realise that their muteness isn't a burden or a curse, it's just something unique about them that they should be proud of. They start to realise that maybe they don't need King to fix their problems, they don't need King's advice after all, all they really needed was to wake up, and have a supportive community around them. Something they had, but had spontaneously stripped themselves of one day due to their own perception of themself.

I think godpoke would still go to king after the events of the game but with different reason now,, probably more so to see if they can get advice for mending their old relationships and how they can be sure to keep an open mind and not look down on themselves so much in future.

GAAHHH andd there it is, my very extensive Godpoke lore giggles I hope yew like it… I've had a lot of fun playing with and building up a story for them and am still working on things now honestly,, ironing out littler details n such,, ouhghh they're so fun to play with… If anyone potentially has further questions as usual feel free to send them my way! Helps me iron things out more anyways ueheh so I appreciate it! Especially if people are interested in this at all,, thank yew for letting me yap once more rubs my hands together evilly

GUH YES SORRY THIS TOOK ME SO LONG TO GET TO I had stuff written down but forgot to actually format it into tumblr and post it so. yeah giggles

Since it has been a bit I will say I do not remember what I've already shared n what I haven't shared so there may be some repeated stuff in here

Okay since im gonna yap a whole lot I'm gonna put everything under a cut

Favourite song is Errasuriz by Kiltro in my eyes. They also just enjoy a lot of Kiltro's music in general; and in terms of instrument, tend to prefer the sound of string instruments! I believe I may have said this before but I like to think that they play the violin as well

They are NOT fond of water. This is mostly because it takes them SO long to dry off and makes them feel weighed down and less agile. They also cannot swim. Since they were raised in the desert, dealing with a lot of water is a foreign concept to them so they tend to be more intolerant of it

I like to imagine them spending a decent amount of time by the ocean - despite being adverse to the water. Its a good thinking spot. If they just need space to be quiet and think then they probably head down to a nearby beach in the Cove during the evening to sit by the water for a while

Speaking of evening habits, they and King often have chats together at the end of the day. Catch up on how their days have been, maybe King will tell them a story or two of her past in the desert (if there's any left that she hasn't shared that is giggles) - For quick context, my Godpoke IS mute! But King being the god of Eloquence gives her the ability to communicate telepathically with those nearby (pretty sure I stole this hc from a friend giggles), and of course, understands sign language, so they're able to communicate pretty fluently

Sticking to the topic of the above King headcanon; them not needing to communicate in sign language with her is one of the reasons they enjoy spending so much time with her. They tend to struggle a little with sign, and usually prefer to use Megapon; BUT. With King, the telepathic communication is effortless and requires neither. Its also the first time in years that they're able to communicate with someone being able to hear their voice. While they aren't speaking out loud, the telepathy allows King to actually hear what they sound like, it allows Godpoke to actually use their voice despite being mute, which is something very special to them

Being a corvid, they (and others of their species) are able to mimic other's voices (ofc they can't anymore since they're mute, but they used to be able to!). Not too well, but good enough to freak people out. Tho, this is limited to spoken phrases. They can't js put on another person's voice and start talking for them, puttin words in their mouth n such

Probably spends a decent amount of their time in god realms tbh. Some of their favourites are Thespius' Cloud, Cobigail's Clearing, The Midnight (Missy's realm), and ofc the Throne Room (King's realm),, they enjoy js hanging around n talking - tho when they're not with the gods, they probably spend a lot of time w the bizzyboys

Despite living in the Cove, I think their favourite place in the Grove is Milldread js bc it reminds them of home,, they probably run a few errands there whenever they're not busy with work. Helpin w farm stuff, delivering goods from Bayker's bakery to other parts of the Grove, rounding up cattle, etc etc

Takes Megapon EVERYWHERE, even if they don't plan on using her or need her at all. He's a very dear friend to them I think

Afraid of chickens. I have no real reason for this other than its funny and I like torturing them GIGGLES
