USHRA Monster Tanks - For a brief stint in the 80s monster trucks found new competition in the form of race-converted tracked vehicles commonly referred to as "monster tanks". These tracked vehicles were powered by the same large V8 engines as the trucks, and were capable of all of the same crowd-pleasing maneuvers as their more traditional competitors - wheel stands, burnouts, jumps, car crushes, and even bested several of the wheeled trucks in drag races.
