When they started describing the Titans, I thought I was finally going to get the name of Annie's Titan.. but no? Lol. Even I'm confused and disappointed. Doesn't make sense, unless, like, only women can inherit that pariticular Titan, I guess? Would be a neat concept if they actually addressed it; the only gendered Titan whose powers are available only one-half the Eldian race?

My reading of it is that the Founding Titan is the only one that seems to match its holder's gender, while the others seem to be masculine regardless of the holder's gender (like Pieck's Cart, for a prominent example). It does feel kind of lazy since the others are named for more important traits...but I guess if seven other Titans are pretty masculine in appearance, the distinction makes sense?
[[I kinda wish we saw the previous user Annie inherited the Female Titan from, just to confirm whether only women can become the Female Titan or if it’s just a preference thing (Would the male recruits even care?) I still want Eren to devour her just so I can see what he would look like.]]
[[Not to get side-tracked but I’m kinda waiting for the other shoe to drop with Annie’s character, because I don’t know why she’s still in the story. The fact she was put in crystal for so long and how the characters kept referencing her made it sound like her return was going to be a big deal, but so far she’s just more muscle for the team to take down Eren. I thought someone, like the Jaw Titan, was going to break through the crystal and swallow her, or if she’d be eaten not long after waking up.
As it stands, her background is very sus. Her father adopted her for the soul purpose of turning her into a soldier, so her origins are actually very interesting if she’s the result of an accidental pregnancy that the parent needed to get rid of. It makes me wonder if the scream ability is unique to the Female Titan or if there’s another reason Annie can use it.]]
