A literal Monster Without, Cubone are frequently seen sadly wandering on clear nights, as they recognize their lost mothers in the full moon. 

That said, I’ve got a couple of problems with the usually sound Pokémon lore concerning Cubone. How... on earth... are all Cubone’s mothers dead? Every single Cubone. Every one. Also, as most seasoned players of the main series games might tell you, it might be every now and then you’ll find yourself, say, breeding like 20,000 Cubones whose FATHER is a Marowak (not dead!) and whose mothers are all a Ditto. And yet... they all still wear bones. They literally hatch wearing bones. It doesn’t make any sense.
