Hayley dropped the empty cup into the sink with a satisfied smile listening to the glass ring around the metal was just so satisfying to her. Sighing she licked her lips trying to get any trace of the blood that was left over, sadly there was none. She was starving, absolutely ravenous, and yet she knew that she shouldn’t be this hungry, that it should have been easier to control her hunger pangs. She couldn’t though. What she really lusted for though was not warmed up blood but blood hot and fresh straight from the vein. Of course it would be a lot better if it came from a witch. Or he’ll even a human would do. Still Hayley had been told she was getting out of control, that she needed to control her bloodlust. But really what was the point? It felt good to give in.
Stepping away from the sink Hayley let her fingers trail over the counter top, she hated it here. Hated the feeling of being trapped, hated the people that surrounded her, hated that she had to act all of the time. At least when she'd been in the Bayou she hadn't had to pretend so very much. It had still been taxing knowing they looked to her as some kind of royalty when she was nothing but a orphan, when she felt like she had had to live up to their demands even if they said nothing about them. But it had been easier. She had known where the threats were coming from at least. Now though she felt as if she was surrounded by enemies. Now she was something different, something other not a werewolf, and not a human, not even a vampire. She was a whole different breed, a rare one, and learning to control the way her emotions whirled was a whole different story.
Haley had always been good at controlling her werewolf side, ever since she'd accidentally triggered her curse. It was the reason she'd helped Tyler out, she had never understood why he had such a hard time with it. Now she did. She could be happy and laughing, although that rarely happened, but when it did she was happier than she had ever been, and when she was sad it was like the whole world was against her. Her anger was like a wildfire, there was no end in sight and it was always there. Ready to consume and destroy, and most of all to drink. Just thinking about blood brought out her fangs and as she grinned she could feel them nicking her lips, licking up her own blood was unsatisfying but Hayley had been trying to keep under the radar with her consumption. She was famished though.
