The FireSpeaker , the 5th Rider

Sparks from the rivers of magma floated into the air , giving the deep caves a starry appearance. Heavy footfalls echoed throughout the darkness as a full grown gold rathian stepped her way into view , a rider clad in golden rathian armor which was dyed a deep amber sat on the beast’s back.  The pair radiated power and elegance , a strong burning bond held them together , the rider stroked the wyvern’s neck affectionately ,  “There there Karain” the rider soothes sweetly as the wyvern began to shift anxiously , lifting it’s head to look around. Karain found herself surprised at her rider...that they couldn’t sense there was something else with in this cave...something they weren’t used to dealing with. Everything in the monstie’s body was screaming at her to retreat the ScorchGash caves with her rider and return to the ashy surface where their village lay in the mountain. She flexed her talons and continued on but was ready to flee at her rider’s command. 

The sound of falling rocks echoed from one of the caves to their right , Den hopped off Karain’s back and gripped the hilt of her Flame Syphos and brandished it using the red light from its glow to seep light into the dark tunnel. They hear Karain give a nervous growl warning her not to stray too far ,  “It’s ok Karain , it’s probably just a Basarios or something’‘ Den reassures her monstie looking over her shoulder wearing a comforting smile. Den proceeds into the dark tunnel when the light of syphos lands on dark black shimmering scales , “What the-’‘ Den starts but a puff of black dust finds it way into their lungs and they collapse on the ground coughing and sputtering. Den hears Karain roars protectively as Den’s eyes fall on one of the most hazardous monsters in existence...a Gore Magala. Still coughing , Den begins scrambling away as the beast began to move towards her...WHOOSH!! A searing ball of flame blasts past Den’s shoulder straight into the wing of the Magala which roars angrily and starts charging toward Karain . The harsh stone ground scrapes and crunches as Karain grips her talons into the cavern floor as she readies herself as soon as her foe went to hit , she flipped herself into the air lashing her poison edged tail at the beast.  Finally able to breathe , Den stabs her blade at the Gore’s wing membrane distracting it from blasting her monstie with the virus , she decided then and there that she would rather die then let her partner , her companion suffer such a vile and painful demise. Throwing herself on her feet , she slashed wildly at the beast’s leg finally gaining it’s full attention , Karain’s poison had yet to take effect but it would hit the Gore Magala hard and heavy soon. It snapped its jaws at Den who managed to roll away just in time to hear the frightening snap of it’s jaws right by her ear. This angered Karain and she lashed her talons at the Magala’s back vigorously ripping up as many scales as she could from it’s back , she landed and went to take a bite herself -  ‘‘DON’T BITE IT KARAIN , IT WILL HURT YOU!!” Her rider screams loudly , distracted the Magala finally lands a heavy blow to the rathians’s maw effectively knocking her to the ground and feels the beast pin her down...”KARAIN!!!”

Update!

I have been working on this everyday since my last post of it , I am absolutely in love with this piece so far. It’s gotten me attached to my monsties all over again. I decided to scrap their rider as I wasn’t sure where he’d fit but I’ll try to add him in the next piece with the ThunderingSparkBubble trio.

Erel is my rider in the newest MH stories game and I’ve been debating whether or not to write a fan story on him. I’m thinking it would take place when he’s in his early twenties and with his lover who is also a rider , Val. Do you guys think I should make a story?  Val , Erel’s love interest (whose game I currently playing through)
