November Meal List
Hoping to cut A LOT of fast food out of our diet so I made a menu for the month. We will probably only stay 80% loyal to it. But won't replace with junk. Also, this menu is for a family of picky eaters. There are a few new recipes. But most people will see this as "boring". Not so boring for us!!
th-Chicken Cordon Bleu (I made it cheap and kid friendly. I used chicken tenders, ham lunch meat and provolone sandwich cheese. I served with mixed vegetables and rolls)
th-Cheesy Chicken Tater-tot casserole (I made this the same way I make my cowboy casserole just with chicken and bacon instead of ground beef. take cooked chicken,1 can of cream of chicken soup, 1 can of milk, 1 bag of tater tots, 1 bag of cheese, bacon and vegetable of choice. Layer ingredients, 1. chicken 2. bacon 3. vegetable 4. tater tots 5. drizzle soup mixture over tots 6. sprinkle cheese. I cook at 450 for 25 minutes. Or whatever the time for the tots.)
th- No bake manicotti (I was going to make this but Holden is currently on a no pasta strike. This would be hell for the whole family. I'm not sure what I will make instead. Too big and expensive of a meal to waste or make a separate dish for him)
th-Sloppy Pats (We make our own "Sloppy Joes". We hate onions and cooked green peppers. So we just take ketchup, bbq sauce and some secret seasonings that Pat adds on his own. This is usually made only by Pat. Also, when you make it this way it doesn't fall off the bun. The sauce is thicker and awesomer!)
th-Breakfast!!! (Who doesn't love brinner!!?? We will have french toast because we have a lot of bread. Also will have sausage, hashbrowns and strawberries.)
th-Pork Chop Hashbrown Casserole (Pretty easy, season and brown pork chops on stove top. Prepare cheesy potatoes. Lay chops on top of potatoes and bake. I bake for the amount of time for potatoes. Check chops and potatoes. If not done cook for more time)
th-Hamburger and fries (Boring to some but BIG DEAL for toddlers. Holden loves homemade burgers.)
th-Crock Pot Spaghetti (Going to use a recipe from Pinterest. Thursday will from now on be a crock pot cooking day. We both work late on this day)
th-Skillet Lasagna (Another Pinterest recipe)
th-Turkey Sausage and Potatoes (Going to buy Hillshire Farms sausage and cut it up. Cook red potatoes and serve together. I love that sausage. Easy, cheap and quick toddler friendly meal. Also very salty...so we don't make very often. We also make it with mac n cheese or as a breakfast meat.)
th- Cowboy Casserole (See the Cheesy Chicken Casserole instructions above. Just use ground beef instead of chicken and bacon)
th-Roast (We make our roast with onion soup packet, some bouillon flavoring, carrots and red potatoes. Last time I forgot the onion soup. Oops. Who doesn't love boiled meat?!)
th-Chicken Tacos (We cook our chicken in a pan with some regular ole seasoning. I usually use Mrs. Dash Original blend and a splash of Italian salad dressing-prepared, not dry. Then throw it in the Kitchen Aid mixer to shred with some salsa. Serve on a soft tortilla with chips and salsa)
th-Beef and Broccoli (This is pretty simple. Stew meat, broccoli and a packet of "Beef and Broccoli" from the Asian section at the store. Serve over rice. Bam! I'm all about packets.)
st-Chili (I couldn't tell you. Pat has it in his head. It's top secret)
nd- Meat loaf and homemade mashed potatoes (I can't make it to save my life. Going to buy it from House of Meats)
rd-Grilled cheese and tomato soup (nothing fancy. Just soup from a can and sammies)
th- Pizza and movie night!!!!
th- Hamburgers (again. surprised it is only planned 2 times this month!!)
th- Chicken (shake n bake? fried? with noodles? with rice? general tso? who knows!!!)
th- Meatball subs (meatballs in sauce. easy!!)
th- THANKSGIVING!!!!
th- Left overs!!
th- Hotdogs (We are hosting Thanksgiving...I'm on cooking strike for the weekend)
Every meal will usually have some sort of vegetable and some kind of bread. Our vegetables of choice are carrots, broccoli, green beans, corn or a salad. We will only have real potatoes. If there isn't a vegetable Holden will get a fruit. Usually strawberries or apples. Holden is currently on noodle strike or we would have a lot more noodles on my menu. I will probably add some as sides. I LOVE butter noodles!! We typically deep fry french fries. Going to try to start baking them to try to lose some baby weight. Thursday meals will either be crock pot meals or made over the weekend. Pat and I both work late on Thursdays.
