The moodagent app on spotify is pretty great.
Moodagent is an app that creates a mood-based playlist by simply setting up the mood sliders or choosing a seed track. With this app, you'll be able to learn as to what type of music are you interested in, as well as, getting to know others who have the same taste as you. More » via ziggytek.com
Oh I love this! Moodagent for spotify. This is simply awesome. It is like Pandora meets a mood ring with the access to your music files with the already awesome Spotify. I could easily get hooked on this.
Spotify Applications Review (Moodagent, Pitchfork, & Songkick)
Spotify just recently released applications to enhance your user experience. The applications are plentiful and of very great usefulness. I will be reviewing the Moodagent, Pitchfork, and Songkick applications.
Moodagent is an application that creates a playlists of songs based on the mood you select and your music selection history in Spotify. Moodagent is really useful if you are lazy or indecisive to create a playlist base on your mood. You can select up to four moods in the application (sensual, tender, happy, angry). Selecting a mood will automatically create a playlist of songs that relates to the mood you selected. The application also gives you top tracks that you've listened to in Spotify. Selecting one of the four top tracks it gives will also create a playlist that relates to the mood or artist of that track. The application shows a curved graph of the mood you've chosen. You can control that curve to your likening on the concise mood you aim for to create a playlist. The application was pretty accurate in identifying songs that display certain moods. Choosing the mood ‘sensual’ brought me songs such as Kylie Minogue’s “Where’s the Feeling”, Kelis’s “Milkshake”, and Erykah Badu’s “Get Munny”; pretty sensual in my case. Furthermore, you can also add each playlist created from a mood to your own.
If you're an avid listener of independent music and constantly seek to look for the latest from the independent music industry, the Pitchfork application will suit those needs. The Pitchfork app is divided into three categories: 'All Reviews', 'Best New Albums', and 'Playlists'. The first category gives you the latest reviews of independent music albums such as Field Music's "Plumb", Young Magic's "Melt", or Fucked Up's "Year of the Tiger". The second category displays the best rated independent music albums. Both categories exhibit a detailed review and rating of each album. You can also add each album to your personal Spotify playlists. The last category presents you automatically created playlists from groups that range from top hundred tracks of 2011, top hundred tracks of 2010, top five hundred tracks of the 2000s, and so forth.
The Songkick application syncs artists you like from your Songkick or Facebook account and shows you a list of upcoming favorite artists playing around your area. Clicking on each event will list you five tracks from that artist, a link to buy tickets, and the venue location as well. This application does a serious well done job if you’re constantly looking for your favorite artists touring around you. It makes it more convenient to access future concerts from your much loved artists in this app rather than actually accessing the official website.
These applications are top notch. I personally have nothing unenthusiastic to state about these. They improve my user experience in Spotify as a whole. If you’re looking for resources to search for upcoming concerts and create different types of playlists through new music or a certain mood, check these out. Disappointment is something that definitely won’t come out of this if you waste your time on these apps.
Gotta say, Moodagent's pretty sweet.
Spotify Apps are here!
If you've updated to the latest version of #Spotify, you've probably noticed a few changes, one of them being Spotify Apps. There are quite a few to choose from, but if you need help choosing, we're here to make some recommendations.
First off, definitely add Moodagent. This app makes a playlist for you based on what mood you're in. You can choose one of the pre-determined moods, or you can choose a song in your library, and it will make a playlist of other songs based on it!
Try it out for yourself and see how amazing Spotify Apps can be!
