yknow ,, i always associated “time adventure” from adventure time with c!karl with his whole, “will happen, happening, happened” thing he has going on but recently i started to associate it with michael instead, you know like, the baby zombie piglin.
BMO, who sings the original song, says before the song, “you’re always trying to protect me and finn. what about this time you let me be the papa?” michael, in this adventure time scenario would be directing this comment toward ranboo. ranboos always trying to protect the things that he loves and sometimes he just needs somebody else to care for him.
in the ideal, imaginary animatic in my head, this would take place during the events of like, the season 3 finale. the members of the server have resisted their fighting and everybody, similar to the events of time adventure, are now trying to fight the bigger enemy, teaming together. the bigger enemy could be the egg, dream, etc. and this song is associated with michael because he is what represents what brings all of them together, it’s the things that they care about and the connections with people that they love.
the song ends with jake singing, “you and i will always be best friends” ranboo’s relationships with those that he cares about means a lot to him. as stated numerous times by him, he chooses people over sides and he cares deeply for those around him. but most of all, the person that’s stuck by his side through it all has been tubbo. the two of them will always be best friends and this fact is important since ranboo’s entire arc has revolved around his distrust in others and more so himself.
and in this cheesy, yet sweet animatic in my head, this is the perfect resolution to season 3.
