Anti-Sorting for Moonandfalcon
I had to say that anti sort idea is cool. I really like seeing the less typical anti sorts as you said - some answers are just unappealing.
I did mine.
1) Ordinary /What Matters is When Alive(though I switch between this and Miss You sometimes, even though I wasn't crazy about the Slyth option at first I can kind of understand it actually). /I switch between Love and Power. I guess I'll say Power. The only option in this one I knew I wanted was Wisdom though. Glory is nice I guess, but I'd be in moods where I wouldn't care about that either. Actually my second choice for this answers can go pretty much go any non Wisdom option depending on mood, so. /The Wise. Initially I thought the Great but I just can't imagine myself with the title The Wise for some reason.
Slyth/Slyth/Slyth/Claw (edited; I had the first as Puff because my brain temporarily died. Sorry, and thanks to moonandfalcon for noticing!)
2) Tortoiseshell Box /Purple Potion(these two options are just boring compared to all the other three not that I particularly dislike the choices on their own). Trumpet/Home /The Toadstools.
Puff/Puff/Puff/Puff/Puff - ALL PUFF answers!
3) Records/Cure/Book. The Records over the Book, the Book last - how can the book go last!? /Hunger /Feared.
Probably Hufflepuff primary, possible points to Gryffindor. (Claws and Slyths care too much about the book - this is literally the reverse of the Claw answer); Puff/Claw; Slyth
4) Superhuman Strength /Trolls(obviously). My second least favourite would probably be Vampires though just to make things more fair here)/ Either Broom Flying or Care of Magical Creatures. Though I don't particularly dislike any option on that one. None are 'do not wants'.
Puff/Puff/Huffledor or just plain Hufflepuff
Even vamps would run Slytherpuff.
5) Tell Flitwick before the Test'(Don't much like the 'Lie' option though it seems a bit cowardly to me, when it says 'Hope someone else tells' I keep hearing that Slytherin solidarity thing, but in that case wouldn't the S not want their classmate caught? So I don't know. I'd only lie if I genuinely didn't want the person caught. At least that is staying true to your feelings. /Drawing Lot's(....of course...) /Wide, Sunny Grassy Lane. Again, don't dislike any of the options in the road one - but this one is the least cool. The Lantern Lit Alley isn't my first choice but I could imagine being tempted to go down it. Friend: Want to scare ourselves silly? Me: Sounds kinda fun let's try it. /Eye at the Keyhole( YES I'm serious, I'm a freak apparently. There has to be someone who has an extremely upopular view in everything doesn't there?. / Initially thought 'Withdraw' but am forced to put Draw Wand/Stand Ground' here /Worried about Mental Health. Was stuck here between the Slyth and Puff option...but I think the Puff options is the most unkind strangely. It's a blatant lie, and making the Muggle look stupid. This will sound awful now, but I could see myself going with the Slyth option if the muggle in question was really horrible I probably wouldnt' feel to bad offering to jinx them - but at least I told them the truth! I don't think I would the use the Puff option, if I wanted to not tell I'd just go with Claw option and work from there.
Puff/Puff/Puff/Gryff/Slyth/Puff
You are indeed the first person I've seen who's not freaked out about the prospect of being locked in a dark room with the eye at the keyhole, but hey, it's actually better for the PM team if someone gives a variety of answers/thinks that some of the really popular answers are terrible. (You seem to lean away from Hufflepuff anyway, but this survey is making it pretty clear that Hufflepuff got stuck with a TON of answers that nobody likes very much. If they didn't have "trusted" and "ghosts," there would probably be a large deficit in the number of Puffs.)
6) River, Stars, Dawn.
Slytherpuff, Huffle(dor-or-claw), Gryffinclaw
7) Black,Tails, Left. The only one here I was sure on was Right. I'd just pick right *shrugs* Don't care much about Heads Vs Tails and could have easily gone black.
Slyth/Gryff; Gryff/Slyth; Slytherclaw (more Slyth than Claw)
It's really clear, even without doing the count, that you really don't like the Hufflepuff answers. 16/27 of your least favorite answers are Hufflepuff (and only one of those, river, is secondarily Puff.) 8/27 are Slyth (although you don't really care about 2 of those; this rises to 9 if you consider vamps or think that trolls may get Slyth weight.) 5 Ravenclaw, 6 Gryff - I think you're the first person to narrowly say that Ravenclaw has the most undesirable answers than Gryffindor (although this would fall to a tie between the two if stars ends up being Gryff, and Gryff would take the lead if you go for brooms over ComC.)
So this one is really, really clear - Hufflepuff is your 'anti-House.' (And it's not just the typical "bad answers" - the run of all the question 4s, all of the question 2s, and having 4/6 question #5s being Puff makes this really, really clear. Hufflepuff is not your House.
27-question SORTING for moonandfalcon
To break up the anti-Sorts a little.
moonandfalcon:
Sorry for bombaring your inbox. I just have sorting on the brain. My mixed sorting's, *shrugs*.
So when you have it all laid out, these are my answers:
1)Ignorant, Wisdom, Think of Achievements, The Good
Claw; Claw; Claw; Puff
2)Log Fire, Golden Liquid, Pewter Box, Silver Tree, Violin
Gryff; Gryff; Gryff; Claw; Slyth
3)Being Ignored, Praised, Book/Cure/Records
Slytherclaw; Gryff (Claw, Slyth?), Claw (Slyth)
4)Change the Past, Centaurs, Apparition/Dissaparition
Slyth (Gryff), Claw (Gryff), Slyth (Gryff)
5)All Three Fight, Tell Flitwick to ask student/confront student, Draw Wand/Seek source, Agree/Walk away(bluffing), Cobble Stone Road,
Slyth; Gryff; Gryff; Gryff; Claw; you're missing the nightmare here, although IIRC you said it was heights and you didn't want to include it. (If you weren't the person who said that, I'm really sorry for confusing you, but it makes sense give you've omitted it.)
6)Moon, Forest, Dusk
Slytherin/(Ravenclaw? or Gryff); Gryff (Claw); Slytherpuff
7)Right, Heads, White.
Gryffinpuff; Huffleclaw; Huffleclaw
Does any house in particular really stand out?
I would think it's likely to end up Gryffindor overall, although there are strong Slytherin and Ravenclaw streaks. DEFINITELY least-Puff.
Something I thought was interesting was to do my second choice answers, line them out and seem how they look. I did a few possible question combo's to see how they look.
The Bold, Merlins Box, Cure/Book/Records, Castle Secrets, Ask why, Moon, Right
Gryff; Slyth or Claw (it's looking more Slyth now; I'll have to run numbers); Gryff (Claw); Gryff (Claw); Claw; Slyther(claw?); Gryffinpuff. This would end up Gryffindor (likely.)
Ask for more stories, Silver Glittery Potion, Trusted, Ghosts, Volunteer, Moon, White
Gryff; Claw; Huffledor; Huffledor(claw?); Gryff; Slyther(claw?); Huffleclaw.
Hmmm...the question here is if trusted/ghosts/white produces Hufflepuff, or if adventures/secondaries on trusted and ghosts/volunteer to fight makes it Gryff. Be an interesting result.
The Bold, Parchment, Trusted, Castle Secrets, Tell the Truth When Asked, Forest, White
Gryff; Claw; Huffledor; Gryffinclaw; Claw; Gryffinclaw; Huffleclaw
I would guess this would end up as Ravenclaw.
The Bold, Parchment, Boredom, Invisibility, Proceed with Caution, Dusk, Right
Gryff; Claw; Gryff/Slyth; Gryff/Claw; Puff; Slytherpuff; Gryff/Puff. Looks Gryff overall to me.
Cowardly, Statue, Boredom, Invisibility, Twisting Woods Path, Forest, Heads.
Gryff; Gryff; Gryff/Slyth; Gryff/Claw; Gryff; Gryffinclaw; Ravenpuff. DEFINITELY a Gryff Sorting.
I think it looks much more Gryff/Claw with my second choice answers and a lot less Slytherin, and a tad bit more Puff with Trusted/Ghosts(though werewolves are starting to look a bit more appealing after I read your reasons for it, made me think about the reasons to study them more and they sounded really interesting). I know before I picked 'Draw Wand/Stand Ground' but my sister made a really good point about that option when she did her sorting's. She said it was stupid to just stand there and not move, you're not even really doing anything. At least with the Claw answer you are doing something even if it is a retreat. The Puff answer at least allows you to move along. SO, the stand ground just seems a silly option for me now. I hadn't really considered it that way initially. I just thought at first, if I'm going to have my wand out, might as well draw it, why conceal it? But the Puff option just seems more useful overall.
Boredom was a bit a tough one. I do hate being bored. I don't get bored as often as a lot of people but when I do it's tends to be awful rather depressing feeling. Loneliness is something I tend to feel very strongly every once in a blue moon. I don't get intensely lonely too often. And when I do, it passes and then I'm fine. Cold, I actually really hate being cold, but the reason I don't go with it is because I like winter, even though sitting around freezing isn't my favourite. I don't mind if it's cold as long as I'm not shivering. Also, I'd rather go more with the emotionally driven options as they are probably better indicators of character.
And for Q3 Even though I want to save the records, If I wasn't getting the book first, I'd go for the cure first. I honestly would feel too awful letting someone's hard for go to waste, I'd save it for them.
I have to agree with your reasoning on draw wand/stand ground, and I think that's the reason it's least popular with everyone.

Slythersort - This confirms Slytherin has praised weight (well, that or it doesn't make much sense.)
1. Claw
2. Claw
3. Gryff, Claw, and Slyth. (Still think it's Gryff's first answer and Slyth's third.)
4. Slytherin primary, Gryff secondary
5. Gryff
6. Slytherpuff
7. Puff/Claw

Gryffinsort:
1. Ravenclaw
2. Slytherin
3. Ravenclaw primary, Slytherin secondary points
4. Slytherin/Gryffindor
5. Gryffindor
6. Gryff/Claw (Gryff primary)
7. Gryff/Puff
Ravensort:
1. Ravenclaw
2. Gryffindor
3. Slytherclaw
4. Ravenclaw primary, probable Gryff secondary
5. Gryffindor
6. Gryff/Claw
7. Claw/Puff
I can see why that last one came out Ravenclaw, but still wonder exactly what you have to do to trigger a Ravendor Hatstall. (Ravendor? Gryffinclaw? They sound equally good to me, so I use them interchangeably. Slytherin always comes first in House portmanteaus, if only because Raverin/Gryffinin/Hufflein all sound wrong.)
Heads vs. Tails
zacharyalllen reblogged your post: Pottermore Sorting Hat: Question 7 - Heads vs. Tails
i actually sent julie...youtube video that was fast forwarded to
Yup, I do remember the Ravenclaws use their heads, although I forgot to put it in the analysis. (But JKR's said Gryff/Slyth are the opposite sides of the same coin...I'm the one who pointed out that this actually makes them the same side of the same coin.) So the Gryff-tails Puff-heads thing is sort of "why?"
Unless maybe you consider heads right-side-up and turn this into a question about optimism - Hufflepuffs believe that things will fall right side up while Gryffs would think everything has the potential to go haywire.
(And, again - are we supposed to pick based on the pictures, or on what we'd call on a coin toss IRL? I mean, I'd pick heads either way - I prefer the design better and I call heads IRL. But, say, on dawn - I prefer the dawn picture but prefer being awake at dusk. Or white vs. black - it's black if you want me to pick a color, white if you want me to pick which chess piece I'd play with. My inner Ravenclaw is kind of pissed at being forced to make those choices without any elaboration - I'm the kind of person who will read waaaaaay too much into any given test question if you let me.)
