idk man i distinctly remember coming across them in my local library after i had inhaled most everything else bsc related and thought “do we really need this???”

I went to look up the mansion one i rememebred and was reminded of the SUPER mysteries and like get that cash, Ann, but also this is why I never manaed to read the entire collection and I’m still vaguely bitter

My 60-year-old mother does it weekly, and I was in a begginer’s class - I thought it couldn’t be that bad.

I felt nauseous after 15 minutes, and just when I started to think this was enough for me, the instructor said ‘okay, I think that’ll be enough for the warm up, let’s get serious now’.

but because I am terribly proud and stubborn, I still lasted the whole 45 minutes, ahah. I’m not in too much pain today! though my legs feel a little weak and I’m still exhausted.

i’m pretty neutral about most ships, though i never really got the allure of kurotsukki. i love enemies/annoyances to lovers tropes but something about it is just a big no for me

G: Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it?

I can’t remember my first OTP ever, but for Haikyuu it was Asanoya—I actually started writing fic again because of it. That draft is somewhere in the depths of my documents [I’m tempted to dig it out and work on it now….]

N (haikyuu):  Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom:

queerplatonic relationships—I’ve heard those were bigger a few years back, and I’d really like to see them explored again. qpp kenhina has my whole heart

the hq girls! maybe i’m not in the right part of the fandom or looking in the right places, but i don’t see a lot of them in fics. [if anyone has any fic recs, they’d be much appreciated!]

Current earworm is Ghosty by TOPHAMHAT-KYO and it gives me Tendou vibes.

R:  A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships

this one’s a bit specific but salty exes kuroo x daishou:  enemies to lovers to enemies. i have a bunch of headcanons about this. i think i’ve seen this specific pairing scenario around, but it’s pretty rare. [kuroshou is a rarepair on it’s own, so that may be why]  

T:  Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all? 

aroace hinata is something that my brain came up with early on and refused to let go of and now every fic i write with him in it mentions that in some way

out of curiosity, what were you doing for the bank when you got to work from home? i know it sucked for you but working in finance from home sounds like my dream job lol

one job i did from home was commercial deposit risk management immediately after a new federal regulation rolled out that said banks had to collect a whooole bunch of additional documentation in order to open checking accounts for businesses. then the bank figured out a way to streamline that process and our team was dismantled. when i got demoted, i closed commercial loans for a small business lending team and cleared documentation exceptions. 

the entry-level positions at banks are tellers and call centers, but if you have any adjacent office experience you could probably get in higher up. there’s no telling if you’d be able to work from home though. the only reason i could was because i had disability accommodations and they’d centralized my team to headquarters 4 hours away. 

if you want to poke around for banking jobs, look for job titles like “service associate” or “service officer.”

kuroo for the headcanons ask!

realistic:  kuroo tries to go back to visit the nekoma vbc several times a year, even when all his classmates have graduated, just to hang out with the team, and offer advice and assistance where he can. he also makes a point to go to every interhigh they make it to, and at some point he starts dragging kenma along too

realistic but hilarious:  kuroo and bokuto have a running competition to see who can do the dumbest thing possible without going to the emergency room. kuroo’s winning by one. kenma and akaashi are required to chaperone and they’ve been banned from at least three different cafes 

heart-crushing but fun to inflict on friends:  we don’t see much of kuroo’s mom at all in canon, so he moves when he’s a kid because either a) she dies and his dad finds it too painful to stay where they are or b) his parents have a really messy divorce and his dad gets custody of him, so he’s split from his mom and sister at an early age and that affects how he handles relationships later

unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own:  transguy kuroo has my entire heart

thanks for the ask! this is going to be a long post, so bear with me:

3:  Do you write fics from start or finish, or jump around?

i jump around. i write the scenes that come to mind first, sometimes just the beginnings of them, and jump to the next ones as soon as the idea comes. this leads to a lot of rewriting and revising and getting frustrated over linking parts together, but it does mean i always have something to work on. even if i’m stuck on a scene, there’s probably another incomplete one to grapple with. 

5:  What is the perfect environment for you to write in?

somewhere i can spread out all the stuff i use when i write, like notebooks or extra screens. i’ve found i do a lot of drafting now, so i’ll start a scene or chapter longhand and then type it up. and for second drafts i’ll usually have the original document opened up on a second display and a document for the new draft on my laptop. 

other than that, anywhere with warm lighting and repetitive background noise is good.

9:  Do you prefer to write AUs, canon divergence, or canon-compliant fic?

ooh, this is hard. I guess AUs? i don’t write much that’s 100% canon-compliant anyway, and i really really like magic AUs, whether they be fantasy, urban magic, supernatural, all of it. [i have two in the works right now!]

12:  Is there a trope you haven’t written yet but really want to?

 5 + 1 things! this may not be a 100% valid answer since i’ve got two ideas i’m working on right now, but they’re not very developed so i haven’t written a lot of them. 

other than that, a classic coffeeshop or flowershop au. they may be overdone, but they’re so good.

13:  Is there a trope you wouldn’t write if it was the last trope on earth?

a/b/o, probably.

19:  Who is the easiest/hardest character for you to write about? Why?

easiest:  probably kenma and kuroo. i’ve read so many fics with them and the parts of canon stick in my brain the most. plus they’re really fun to write! 

hardest:  what goes on in shirabu’s brain. what’s behind the bangs. what is he thinking. [really, most of shiratorizawa is difficult for me, which sucks because i have something planned around them that i can’t figure out for the life of me]

The Fanfic Writer Ask Meme.

A: Of the fanfic you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

There are a few I’m pretty fond of, but Banished Daughters of Eve (The Closer, gen) is the one that puts a satisfied little smirk on my face whenever I think about it. I like the fic, the title, and even the summary, and I really enjoyed angrily twisting Major Crimes’ ending and the words of a Catholic prayer into something I liked better.

B:  What was the first fandom you read fic in?  Which was the first you wrote fic for?

M*A*S*H, for both writing and reading! I read some original stories (Best Care Anywhere’s term for fic) and, in a fit of 11-year-old hubris, decided I could do it, too.

C:  How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?

Since there wasn’t one specified, I’ll go with the fic from A, Banished Daughters of Eve.

I was looking for a Mary-centric prayer for Sharon to say when she needed strength, because she just seems like a Blessed Virgin fangirl. Hail, Holy Queen seemed like a pretty good option for a character who’d just been banished from her own series, plus there’s something kind of hypnotic about the rhythm of it.

And the prayer goes, in part, “To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve;to you we send up our sighs.” I didn’t think it was a huge coincidence that both of these female main characters got crappy exits from their own series, so I decided to go for “daughters” instead of “children” to highlight the fact they’re both women.
