After realizing I've only shared some of these photos in stories and not in posts, I thought it would be good to tell you about this little propagation station. Initially made for propagating, it could also be a bud vase, or hold a cute dried flower arrangement. A simple bar of glazed pottery gives the antique cigar tubes a firm foundation to hang from. Those tubes are wrapped with what I like to call nests of thin copper wire, interspersed with glass beads. (Close-up in photo 2) I recycled the copper wire from electronic car parts, for those who don't know, I used to work in the automotive industry. The nests are then secured to the glass tubes and keep them in place. All of this is strung with natural hemp cord to be hung on a wall as shown, in a window, or frankly, anywhere. I had this idea I my mind for a while, it wasn't until I started using @maycocolors Malachite glaze that it all really came together. I imagined that glaze with copper wire accents and the nest vision was born. Repurposing items I had like the cigar tubes and car parts was a big part of my inspiration as well. The results truly were exactly what I had in mind! There is one more set of tubes in a larger size I intend to use in a larger version of this, my first attempt however failed, so I will try again soon. I'm still on a bit of a break, the kiddo's birthday is tomorrow and we have been potty training so my time has been consumed by both of these things.
