'Give up' is a rather misleading word to use. The transformation potion's effects weren't so powerful, at most giving them a few days before the magic would start to dwindle. For Jade, the thought of permanently trading his fins for legs is scandalous. The idea of separating himself from his element, his home, of everything that he is proud of would have made him depressed. He would never do such a thing.

"I would not use the word 'gave up', this form is only temporary." When he thought to say that no merfolk would ever consider the bargain if it involved having to give up their tails, one person's odyssey comes to mind. "Though there is one mer in our world who had performed such a ritual. Do you happen to know about the Mermaid Princess?"

Oh, if only things were that simple. The books about Fae myths on the surface would then have nothing to boast about but empty pages.

He's gone through some of them in the archives, curious about the students in Diasomnia but also intrigued by the mysteries the surface has to offer. Receiving eatables from fae had been one among the many schemes humans had encountered. So is soliciting them for help, forming a contract.

"I suppose I'll have to think about it first." He politely declines. There's an underlying amused tone in his voice. The idea of forming a contract with a fae sounds exciting to him, but he's not willing to cast himself into the throes of trickery. Not just yet. There is plenty of time for the game to commence.

She had been caught, though Yuu tried time and time again to be secretive when staring the fact remained that in a world of beings that had literally needed to be on their toes every possible second she was a terrible sleuth. The once subtle glances of her classmates and upperclassman alike had grown bolder and more frequent in her time here, and though she had known staring to be rude there was just so much about this world and the people alike that fascinated her.

None more than the Diasmonia students had seemed to fascinate her the most however, as the concept of fairies, or rather fae as this world called it, was nothing more than a childish concept in her own world. Whereas in this it was perfectly ordinary for those types of creatures to exist.

"I'm sorry!" Yuu started bowing her head down in respect which she herself had found odd the moment she did it. "You're just, so interesting. I promise I don't mean that in a weird way but fae and those affiliated with the heritage don't exist in my world."

He really hadn't asked about that, and yet Yuu found herself needing to explain lest she potentially upset the other any further. "Your ears are so unique, you look like you have claws, and I'll admit I am curious about your eye patch but don't want to overstep. I know I'm rambling on here, I just find you and many of the other of your dorm so fun to look at. It's like living in a fantasy novel and I tend to forget you're a real being and not just some character in a story."

Silent snowfall covers the forest floor in a slow-growing blanket while dead trees in the distance crack and reverberate between the mountains. She stares; her breath is nothing more than a cloud. The edges of her black cloak are grabbed by hands, which then pull inward as if the thin fabric might provide some warmth.

"No matter how long you stare at the ice, you will never see any life there." The pond was frozen, with patches of white and deep blue covering its surface. It would take a long time for the ice to melt because it was several inches thick. This person stayed, despite its state. As enthralled as she was, she couldn't keep quiet indefinitely.
