He could see how Sawamura’s eyes widened as he said his spiel but the southpaw looked happy and that was enough.“You really think so?” Sawamura said as he moved closer to Takatsu so they were only a shoulder-width apart. Takatsu nodded. “Of course. You inspire me,” he confessed. He hadn’t meant to say it but there was no way he was going to take it back after he saw the small blush against Sawamura’s cheeks and the shy smile across his face. “

Chris idly wondered if the coach was somehow punishing him for something. “Is...is this where you got hurt?” asked Sawamura, his nimble, long fingers running down the scar left on Chris’ shoulder from his surgery. Chris had honestly forgotten it was there. Well, that wasn’t the complete truth - it wasn’t something he could easily forget, it was more that it didn’t bear keeping in mind constantly that in this moment he had forgotten all about it until Sawamura ran his fingers down the raised ridge.]
