‘Moonlight Lady’ [ムーンライトレディ]
[PCE-CD] [JAPAN] [MAGAZINE] [1993]
“Moonlight Lady is a cute action/RPG by Nec Home Electronics. The game features three super-girls - the intrepid "Moonlight ladies". The game starts when the pink-haired Artemis, the cry-baby of the group, is followed to her house by a mysterious floating ball of light. Scared, she cries to her mom and runs to her bedroom where she meets the strange ball again - and, curiously, she's given the power to understand the language of animals. Nick, a weird red talking bird, appears and she learns that humanity is in danger and some evil monster called Gargoyle is about to take over the World. Artemis later meets the other girls of the team who also received more offensive powers - Aquarius can use the power of water and Minerva the power of fire. Moonlight Lady alternates simple RPG scenes where our cute ladies walk around the city and talk to various characters, and pure-action scenes full of vicious monsters and terrifying bosses.” ~Video Game Den

“Moonlight Lady” - PC Game - March 26, 1993
An early example of Sailor Moon’s influence in media, Moonlight Lady is an RPG featuring 3 girls that transform into the warriors Artemis (energetic but a crybaby), Aquarius (the smart one), and Minerva (bossy but well meaning). Though the aesthetic is aimed more towards otaku, the story, character traits and the music make it clear that the early episodes of Sailor Moon were a big inspiration.
